Re: 17" low profile vs 15" high profile

I fitted the standard 15"s to mine after selling off my 17" Kahns that came with the car. The difference was night and day. If you're buying the car to drive rather than to pose, I'd recommend it every day. It turned a borderline undriveable MR2 (due to the combination of Tein coilovers an...

An absolute legend in my opinion. Never dealt with a more knowledgeable, pleasant and diligent motor vehicle engineer.

Re: Whistling at speed (40mph) - new weatherstrips or will re-aligning windows fix?

Sorry hadn't seen the latest update - thanks very much for this - sounds exactly right.

Do I need to know the part number or will Mr T know the correct parts without mucking it up? :)

Will do, thanks. Failing that are there any chemicals that are safe to use?

[Mk2] [Turbo] How to best de-modify (or rather strip paint safely) from rev 3 lights?

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/St_Dante/IMGP5078.jpg As this old pic shows the previous owner had a bit of a R33 fetish, as he painted up the rev 3 lights fitted to the car. I know from talking to some people that it's entirely subjective and it might not look that bad to others but they re...

Re: Whistling at speed (40mph) - new weatherstrips or will re-aligning windows fix?

I tried sealing up the hole under the tweeter cover from the mirror that I noticed mentioned a few times on here and also the 'other' OC's guides, using a bit of the 'stay wet' silicone matic & PTFE tape...no dice. I think a clip may be broken on the driver's tweeter cover though. It does seem t...

Whistling at speed (40mph) - new weatherstrips or will re-aligning windows fix?

As title really. The car has always whistled from when I bought it, and it was only when a friend pointed out that this isn't the norm, together with recently trying to demist a car and it taking 20 mins due to condensation inside the front screen, that I thought I'd best see if others have have the...

Blue Rev 1 MK2 in Thorpe Hesley

Parked on someone's drive. Surprised I'd not seen it about before - live in Swinton now but my family all live there. :)

Re: [Mk2] [NA] What length drop links for 30mm drop?

Sorry for the hijack, but is it best to pay up the cost for genuine Toyota drop links, or can equivalent quality (ie 14mm thick or better links) be sourced for less? I've noticed Camskill claim to offer OEM quality front, but only cheaper (thinner linked I think) aftermarket rears.

Re: south yorkshire meet

I'm free most nights mate - will try to give Dave a bell and see if he has any thoughts.

I'm happy to meet wherever btw (as long as it's not a Mcdonalds or a KFC - don't want to be mistaken for the Max Power kids out for a spin in their corsas! )

Just to add if you ever have one on another night I'll come again - can't do Tuesdays this academic year sadly as I teach until 8.30pm, and wouldn't get up from Sheff in time. :(

Are you sure it's not coolant dripping out of the overflow pipe from the expansion tank, and evaporating as it hits the exhaust?

Re: JHclassics dino conversion

Reminds me a bit of the Retroforza MX5s, but it's your MR2 at the end of the day. I don't get why anyone wants to stick body kits or after market spoilers of any description upon a car with very classic lines, but I'd never knock someone else for doing it. Ultimately it's your car, so if you can acc...

Glad to hear this - they look great so pleased they are comfier than my old Celica's Seats. Maybe the leather seats had more / better padding?

They look good, but how comfortable are they? I remember the cloth Gen 7 Celica seats were uncomfortable after more than 30 mins or so driving.
