Re: JAE 2009! Discussion Thread
If it is not at MI I hope they find a more central location. It looks like us northerners might get to go again

Re: Wing Mirror Glass
Don't bother removing the glass to spray them, just mask it off. They are easy to break when removing (I know from experience) so if you can avoid it do

Re: Selling car nightmare! Grrr
^^^ What John said ^^^^ We all know the bad points on our cars but it is always nice to know what is right with the car. My car was an insurance write off and it didn't put me off, on a 20 year old car it is not unusual. You really need the pictures though as no one will travel to see a car if they ...

Re: buying advise please
Numbers 1 and 2 have blue interiors avoid like the plague  Number 3 might have a blue interior be very wary :thumleft: Seriously though the only way to find out is go and look at them, the lack of log book is not always a problem they may have just lost it. The second one does look the best in ...

Re: boot size
Width 120cm
Depth 30cm
Height 30-35cm
These are rough sizes but are usable, there are bits bigger and smaller. Best bet is to try the pram in the boot

Depends what type of accident. Fibreglass is actually quite good at absorbing bumps and is actually much stronger than steel in certain circumstances

That is a shame Phil
I hope to see you again at Tatton this year, what have you done with your car? It was a lovely example (although would have been better in red)

Re: WEB SITE :- whats happening ?
I bet Kev wishes he had not asked the original question now :) Thinknig about it I cannot understand why the question was asked by Kev as they share business interests, so maybe Kev would have known where to go for the answer assuming he attended the AGM? :-k Obviously a distinct lack of communicat...

Re: WEB SITE :- whats happening ?
I bet Kev wishes he had not asked the original question now :) I personally do not think the MK1 has a big enough base to warrant an exclusive club. That is why the main owners clubs are multi marque. The Mk1 is now a very cheap sports car so is being bought by people who have no interest in joining...

Re: WEB SITE :- whats happening ?
Perhaps a public forum is not the best place to air grievances, it is an amusing read but it really does not present the club as a unified body

Re: WEB SITE :- whats happening ?
Interesting comments Tommy. In your view, who is the group trying to drive the club forward, and who is the group holding it back? Just trying to scratch beneath the surface on what seems to be quite a broad comment. It was probably a bit broad Wayne, but the people I come into contact with on the ...

Re: WEB SITE :- whats happening ?
All I can tell you is that I'm no longer involved. After many hours of hard work I had the test site up and running for the 1st of December as per the agreement from the AGM. For reasons known only to themselves the committee then decided that 3 weeks before their deadline for a launch date was a g...

They don't look good. HTH. They look crap. It's wholly innapropriate for an 80s jap car IMO. Just seriously naff. :-: Furry dice were very popular in the 1980's would they be appropriate? I hadn't realised these would annoy so many people, I may need to get one to go with my air scoop :lol...

Re: Stainless Gear shift Gate plate for mk1s
But if you like the look, and you can find one that dosen't cause probs, whats wrong with it. I've always liked the look of these metal plate type gaitors. Not for any good reason, I just think they look good. They don't look good. HTH. They look crap. It's wholly innapropriate for an 80s ...

I actually like that colour, there was a MK1.5 painted a very similar colour at JAE a couple of years ago and it was really nice
