Re: Replacing brake pads DIY
It's been a long, long while since I spannered an AW11. From memory, wind the piston all the way in so it's flush, then wind it back half a turn or so until the dimple can align with the notch on the pad. It's important to seat the piston/pads/callipers for hand brake function before attempting to s...

Re: Japfest 2: The Evolution - Sunday 15th August - Rockingham **Booking Closed**
Garrick, do you know what the deal is with transfering track time? Cant make it and want to sell my track time, problem is they also still havent sent me my ticket. Just wondered if I can transfer it into someone elses name? Got a lad who wants to buy it. You need to contact the event organisers (J...

Re: 4 wheel alignment camber and castor in East Northants
Tyres Northampton (Weedon Road) are highly reputable, but not cheap. When you get to castor and camber it starts getting expensive if taking it to a place like those. Also when they say "Starts at" it also means that any stuck bits that need time freeing off will also be chargable. Budget ...

Re: MR2 Super GT Race Series for 2010
Remember timing is sctrictly forbidden on trackdays. You'll need to do a test day to compare laptimes to the cars in a race. Naturally you could gather data on a trackday to analise only when at home at the end of a day (many try do this with video and/or other gps enabled systems like Racelogic), b...

Re: Radiator Mods
Try it, disconnect your fans and leave it on idle for 3hours. Report back what happens :thumleft: I would also suggest trying to leave a car with fans connected idling for 3 hours and see how it gets on :thumleft: I think one will find very similar effects allbeit a longer process. When my old red ...

Re: Radiator Mods
OK I think what you're missing out on is the important things like how long it was idling for, where and what the outside temperatures were... I guess I'll add that little bit of info - It was set up for JAE 2006 or 2007 where is was over 30degress in the shade. The car was left idling and I got dis...

Re: Radiator Mods
My old red MK1 overheated when sat idling with the fans going - and yes you could hear them wizzing away. They're not designed to sit and idle. I've been running MK1's since 2005 with no rad fans with no problems whatsoever :thumleft: Most of the race cars also have them removed with no probs. So so...

Re: Radiator Mods
Looks good :thumleft: I ditched the fans alltogether as they're not needed really needed. Even in standing traffic or redlining it all day on track in 30 degrees heat, they never came on as there was no need. I guess they are needed in some countries though where temeratures are generally a lot high...

Re: question on imoc track days???
There are road policies available that cover trackdays where you don't need club membership. It's not cheap though. Try Richard Egger Insurance - They provide trackday and motorsport insurance as well as road policies with trackday cover (for say X-Amount of trackdays per year. Then if you do more, ...

Thanks for sorting this Dan

For those interested in only spectating/passengering, you don't need to be there for the briefing as you can sign on as a passenger
(FOC) at any time during the day/s
- allows you to have a bit of a lie-in if required

Re: Heater matrix leak / replacement
To be fair, Tom got the idea from Lauren, but decided to make more
"DIY friendly" with his access panel template.
Either that or it was a caloboration

Best hear it from the horses mouth mind.

And I'm not calling Lauren a Horse!!!

I cut the hole, changed the matrix and made a panel.IIRC Tom made a drawing afterwards.

IIRC, Tom made the template when he changed the matrix on his own car

I'd go for the frunk as access is much easier.

I hadn't thought of that.
