Re: Wheels In Motion.....

Butter wasn't the correct terminology so sorry for that, but the BOSS machine we have is one of only a few in Europe specifically designed not to touch the wheel hence our shock it broke your wheels centre spindle, I wasn't aware of you complaint until you left the centre and to be honest i would ha...

Re: Wheels In Motion.....

If i failed in communication i apologize but our conversation beforehand regarding adjusting the castor as well as the NSF camber obviously advanced things from the original email quote of £40 to correct the camber. Seemingly not all customers think adding more work would cost more. Your point is ta...

Re: Wheels In Motion.....

If you going to belittle me please give the complete picture. Our touchless BOSS machine did indeed stuff your wheel which we had professionally repaired at a level above the original build. While this was being done we gave you a donor car to ensure your mobility. Once done i calibrated your cars c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Nervous front end at high speed.

As far as I'm aware, a nervous, vague and unstable front end is a bit of an mr2 trait. I assume its due to a lack of weight up front, over assisted power steering rack and possibly some poor aerodynamics creating a bit of lift at speed. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to it. O...

Turbo-G wrote:Cool, but why 18 minutes difference between camber left to right on the rear after adjustments? :?

The cross camber is a result of the toe correction and the fact this car has limited adjustments... 18' is well within the 30' allowed.

Re: Mechanic broke a part in my car & wont fix it - is this

he should really be doing this himself for free of charge. Why??? it was your sensor that was faulty and not his fault something broke when removing it? why should he pay??? Things get stripped, snap off, sieze up all the time, its not the mechanics fault a part on your car is sub standard....his only...

Re: Mechanic broke a part in my car & wont fix it - is this

Like it or not i disagree. No one can predicted in advance a bolt/sensor is going to snap, there is only one way to undo something threaded, if it snaps........ That's life!... I feel the resulting conversation dealing with the situation reads fair, all the options read as, up-front and honest in my...

Re: [Mk2 NA Import] Tracking fugures

Proper 4 wheel alignment is the only thing to do. A normal 2 wheel tracking on these cars is a complete waste of time. IMOC.UK & WIM we rest our case. (Richie) This can of worms affects many people... Ignorance in this field in my opinion suggests conversation.... A slow progressive evolution i...

Yep, makes sense to me. 8) So you have absolute vision regarding the Alignment con within fast-fit... This mirrors Richie's initial post (sorry Richie) to steal the thread! Mark in your honest opinion do you feel the likes of 'Crap fit' could possibly understand the basic methods required to comple...

My history is in fast fit and i used to be a bit of an expert with an old hunter machine. So ... you are wise then!.....Living with the Hunter you must understand the Thrust position and how the front correlates back by degrees to the thrust angle... do you feel as frustrated as me with the ...

Re: [Mk2 NA Import] Tracking fugures

You really do need all four checked properly to make sure it drives straight. Wise words indeed...... Question for those reading this thread?... Front wheel Alignment, what are the shop aligning the wheels to? The answer is of course the rear wheels. 8) So if they're not straight then the fronts ha...

Re: Recommended: Tony at Wheels in Motion

Had a full geometry alignment with Tony at WIM/STS in Watford yesterday, bit of a journey for me, but well worth it. He really took his time and set her up well. Bizzarly nearly every setting was perfect, and symetrical across the car EXCEPT the front toe, which was really badly toed out.. every mi...

Re: WHY do bigger alloys mean worse handling?

Lauren, I meant that when adding coilovers you won't need separate settings for 16s and 17s, because it is irrelevant to the rim size, plus there are no real adjustments to be made except maybe dampness. Right? There are something like 14 angles to consider with a geometry set-up, so therefore ANY ...

Re: Geometry Check...

Oh? Its seems fine at speeds below 80 (private runway) 8) ,might get the wheels rebalanced somewhere else in that case. I guess one or two of the wheel weights may have come off Food for thought.... when the tyre centre mounts the wheel to the balancer they will use the wheels centre hole to mount ...

Re: Geometry Check...

Today i went to get my tracking sorted as i thought it was off as i am getting slight wheel wobble and it feels like strong winds at high speeds. They told me the tracking and wheel balancing are fine and need to get the geometry checked. Going to get a second opinion tomorrow, but they said to tak...
