Indeed it is. Trying my best to find a way at the moment. Peter has been very persuasive and I do really want to come. But I have to convince Mark. Getting there. :+:

Re: 4age to 4agze conversion

No. The boost is simply limited by crank speed and size of your crank and supercharger pulley. The trouble is with boost pressure (if you have a gauge) is that it is depedent upon the efficiency of your intercooling. As the intake temps get higher the air expands becoming less dense but giving more ...

Re: 4age to 4agze conversion

Sounds good. Blank off the ABV though. We did tests on the 'ABV mod' years ago and it will cost you boost pressure. It's a bit a bodge really.

An oil filter is very easy to get off the shelf at Toyota as they use the same filters for lots of their cars.

Re: Loose streering

I love my Toyos they were brilliant on the MK1, kept grip and provided plenty of feedback. they may have not been suitable for your DC2 but that is an entirely different vehicle to be honest, so the comparison is hardly fair. The other thing to remember tyres are like suspension and wheel choice, i...

Re: Loose streering

2003, wow, time for a new set of boots then. ;) Toyo's are no good to be frank. Tried them once and they just ruined the handing of the DC2 I had at the time. Too soft on the sidewalls. I have no idea why people think they are any good. Guessing it's because they are a bit of a budget tyre. Better t...

Re: Loose streering

Even though my tyres have plenty of tread, they are a bit old now, so thinking that is not helping the situation... Check how old the tyres are. When I checked my AE86 the tyres were 8 years old! Tyres generally lose their goodness after two years or so. There'll be a date stamp something like for ...

Re: Air flow question

Just stick the cone filter in the boot where it mounts to the metal pipe that comes through the boot firewall. Then pull the sponge that is sitting over the inner wheel arch helping it to rot and you'll get a bit of induction noise in the cabin. Best of both worlds. :+: Or you can just stick it stra...

Re: MK1a / MK1b Clutch Slave Cylinder and Rod difference?

I thought the slaves were the same, I could be wrong.

I've had the clutch stick on the AE86 once when it had been sitting a couple of years. I just did it on the starter, soon free'd it off.

Think you was in the queue next to me as we was queuing to get in. White GT86? Unfortuantely i only got to talk to a few people at the Tesco meet and gave GazzaDJ my mobile number in case we needed to move my car. Yep! White GT86 with red TE37's and side stripe, can't miss it really! With my panda ...

Re: JAPFEST 2017 - IMOC/TWOBRUTAL/FB/OC MEMBER ATTENDEE LIST

Many people arrived before the 'main' group which dictated the spacing and weren't around when the main group arrived to move around, which is why I'm saying we need people to either stay near their cars until the majority arrive or leave a number in the window. Yes, we probably would have been OK ...

Re: JAPFEST 2017 - IMOC/TWOBRUTAL/FB/OC MEMBER ATTENDEE LIST

It didn't look like to me that you were that tightly packed in. Seemed to me you had plenty of room. We had 66 cars on the GT86 DC stand and that was really tight, we just had to park the cars really tightly in rows, there were some tricky manouevres to get in and out.

Re: o2 Sensor Gasket & Speedo

Does the N/A speedo have the light on if for the knock sensor? Or do I need the SC speedo? The SC speedo has a light that comes on when the supercharger engages, it's done on vacuum I think. Is that what you mean? There is no light for a knock sensor. The point of a knock sensor is to retard the ig...

Re: o2 Sensor Gasket & Speedo

You can get one from Toyota or dare I say it, any exhaust type place, they're bound to have them. Or any motor factor place. I don't think it will be anything special.

I don't know what you mean about the knock sensor flashing?

Re: 4age to 4agze conversion

If you'd ever seen can happen when you short out a lead acid car battery you would never position a strip of metal (any metal, it all conducts) that close to the battery terminals. It's not just a question of the battery moving, what about when your disconnecting/connecting the leads or removing th...

I never had a problem with it. The battery was very tightly clamped down.
