Re: weld an external wastegate to a standard cast manifold? Success!
I may be wrong.. if the car was building boost before you modified it, and it doesn't now, and the only thing you've done to the original toyota wastegate is disable it by pulling the hoses off it then it has to be the "tial" wastegate that is at fault ive also went from 4 branch manifold...

Re: weld an external wastegate to a standard cast manifold? Success!
I had Allen bolts but dropped them into the abyss, im guessing you based the rest of your facts on the fact I have bolts instead of Allen head screws. The wastegate works as it should, when I switch the boost controller to off it opens the waste gate at 0.5 bar and there's no leakage through the was...

Re: weld an external wastegate to a standard cast manifold? Success!
I've got the boost controller piped to the EWG the way that it's says in their manual.... When I increase gain on the blitz dsbc it doesn't seem to do anything now... It definitely did with the actuator before changing I had it on gain 5 set 25, now I have it at gain 50 and set 70,I've tried setting...

Re: weld an external wastegate to a standard cast manifold? Success!
In my humble opinion, an adapter would make much more of a clean install and offer the same advantages, maybe except for cost. something like this. But a CT to CT external wastegate adaptor like that makes no sense as a product as the market is miniscule... and even if you could buy one, then none ...

Re: weld an external wastegate to a standard cast manifold? Success!
then you need to drop the turbo 2 inches thus the downpipe, which would hit speedbumps more than it does already, youd need oil and water lines made up because it would be out of place too.

Re: weld an external wastegate to a standard cast manifold? Success!
have you thought about putting some heat shielding around the hot pipe where the wastegate sits just below it? something like this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/heat-shielding-protection/zircotec-zircoflex-heat-shield-material Looks good, was going to modify an original heat shield aswel...

Hunter equipment for alignment in Scotland?
Any recommendations lads? Just phoned pro grip in Falkirk and apparently if you have coilovers it's too much hassle and not worth his time for him to do it.... Was there 30 mins and charged 80 quid this time last year, 160 quid an hour not a good wage nowadays? Pro grip?? Isn't coilovers a good way ...

Re: weld an external wastegate to a standard cast manifold? Success!
Ok so finally got it up and running, there's definitely something wrong... I donno if the spring in the EWG isn't strong enough or what but when it's running it's just bypassing the turbo and dumping all the exhaust gas on tick over, it sounds terrible! When looking at the face of the piston inside ...

Oooo nice.... You sure they fit with coils, I've got meister-r ones fitted and had to get rid of a set of 8j wide wheels... I'm very interested just waiting on a cheque coming through, I think I'd need to try them on ma car before I'd be completely happy parting with the coin. If you've still got th...
