Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] suspension creaking noise
check out you top mounts, the spherical bearings have a tendancy of causing a creaking sound when they are worn out. Basically jack up one side of the car so the front wheel is off the ground then place one finger on the strut nut and then leaver the wheel up and down with a bar, if you feel any mov...

Re: [Mk1] [Generic] Random Overheating
There seem to be a fair few overheating threads on the forums recently and one thing that people always seem to miss suggesting are "the pipes from hell" that run above the fuel tank, which have a tendancy over the years to stress fracture at the mounting points just behind the heat shield...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ARP head bolt torque settings
That's fair enough, my information is from a fairly highly regarded MR2 specialist who has also debated the process with ARP and the idea of the 30 minute gap is to allow the crush of the HG, but as with every engine build people have different ways of doing it, and I was just offering an alternativ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ARP head bolt torque settings
Then retorque each one individually after about 1500 miles - slacken it off, tighten the stud in again, relube the nut and washer and retorque. I have been informed that this is unnecessary and can be done on the first fitting by once the bolts are torqued up leaving them for 30 minutes (ie cuppa t...

Not suer specifically on the pillow ball mounts but for reference standard top mounts have an arrow on them which
MUST
point to the rear of the car.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rebuildable suspension? With pics (mk2 rev2 turbo)
I personally have a koni SSK kit
(springs and adjustable dampeners) and find it great, but then again I like a harsh ride, however many people rave about the tein springs with various different dampeners, have a search and look at the various comments.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rebuildable suspension? With pics (mk2 rev2 turbo)
That would be a yes in answer to your question, pictures 1,3 and 4 all show the flat circa 24mm
(or is it 32mm) top to the strut that requires undoing to slide out the shock.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boinging Noise from Coilovers
my guess would be that the front top mounts are on the wrong way round.

Basically if the top mount is not in the correct orientation the spring will move about in the cup as the strut moves when the wheel is turned.
