Re: heat..... Its worth considering that aluminium is very good at getting rid of heat, compared to steel.... If you put the same amount of heat into a steel and an alu flywheel, the steel one will take longer to both heat up and to cool down after the heat is removed. This means that the steel one ...

Dont get too carried away with wheel weights, though... Most of the unsprung weight of the full wheel comes from the tyre! If you spend say another £300 to save 2kg per corner, all that could be negated by your tyre choice...! :? Is there a TYRE weight database, too....? :D Just for reference, MR2 R...

This wasn't oil......It was sticky: tacky to the touch....

Oil, you can wipe with your finger, and it comes off, leaving the metal underneath...this was actually a sticky goo!

Only thing upstream that would cause this was the filter.....and it hasn't re-occurred, either....

In short: forget it......!
