The sensor wires should match up. Check and see if you have power at the ABS ECU, as this does need to be repinned in the passenger footwell. You're looking for a black wire with a yellow stripe on the ECU-IG circuit.

We use Carbotech XP8 on all of our race cars.

Anything is possible. But what would be the point? The BEAMS block will likely be stronger than the 3SGTE due to being a newer casting and already has the oil gallery for the VVTi.

The speedo sensor feeds the instrument binnacle which then processes the signal and supplies the ECU.

The VVT on this engine is continuously variable and under ECU control. The VVT actuator was modified to restrict the amount of movement that could be achieved electronically to mitigate the risk of piston to valve contact in the event that ECU control was lost for any reason.
