Re: How would you sell the Engine?

I originally wanted to sell the complete 'engine package' to someone, thinking that would be the most attractive, but in the end I sold off the turbo and some minor things, and sold the long engine and gearbox to some one with a faulty engine, or looking to go forged without all the additional expen...

Re: Spec me a rebuild for a fast track car...

Leftfield - Start with a bigger engine, add a standalone ECU, and run a turbo on low boost off that...

Full boost early, low boost, linear delivery. Looks fun in this vid:

You did ask..

Engine Lid Compatability

Quickie - Can a NA engine lid undertray be fitted to a Turbo engine lid..? If not, why not?! :D

Perhaps going V6, so NA undertray is good for me...

Thanks

I think he's doing a track car, hence stripping various items from the car. On its own, I would agree, not worth it / noticable..

Re: Removing A/C - How to???

Never seen a 'how to', but for weight saving, the main things you want to worry about is the pump and radiator up front. You are 'supposed' to have the system specially vented by a garage. After this, the pump can be removed from underneath, and the pipes simply blocked and secured out of the way. T...

Goodyear Eagle F1's - Where sells them?

Anyone know anywhere that still, or might still sell the older style Eagle F1's? I need to get a 225/45/16 tyre...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stand alone ECU's - what's on the market now?

I just sold (a few weeks ago) a Link G3 with individual coil ignition. Does everything you'd want for the 3S-GTE practically and is supported by a number of tuners. Good value too :thumleft:

Re: Best alloys for track use???

Also, is it safe to use spigot rings on the track as it's often hard to find aftermarket wheels with the correct centre bore? Yes I believe so. The only real purpose of spigot rings are to correctly center the wheel onto the hub prior to correctly torquing the wheel nuts / bolts. They don't actuall...

Re: Subframes...

Don't remember it being that heavy anyway, perhaps 12-14kg at most I think, which isn't too heavy for its size and what it does. The tubular version is what, maybe 5kg at best.. There's got to be easier and less expensive ways of saving weight than a £1k subframe.. And its not as if its going to sav...

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=150087 Buy the forged engine package I'm selling for half your budget, swap over a few choice Rev4 3S-GTE bits and fit larger injectors and maybe a larger CC core (all the rest is there) and go for 400+bhp with a reasonable powerband and response... Forged Engine - How Much Would It Sell For

Completely speculative question, but if I was to look to remove the forged engine and sell as a complete swap package, how much do think it would be realistically worth..? This would include basically everything to install and run in another car. Spec: Rev 2 block / head Eagle Rods CP pistons Cometi...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] 1ZZ-FE (Coil-on-Plug) Conversion

Thanks for the replies folks. It does look straight forward to rewire using the info provided by the ECU itself, and the pin out on page 16 of the manual. However, I was under the impression the ECU was installed (and subsequently mapped) by 2Bar Tuning. Now this is where I think I'm getting confuse...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] some progress pics, GT3071R MR2

Hi mate, interested in the CoP conversion you've done there. Can you take a quick peek at my thread below, and if you have any info, please let me know? Also, what coils are you using? I'm using 1ZZ from a Celica, but yours look like 2NZ from a Yaris, although they appear to fit a bit better due to ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] 1ZZ-FE (Coil-on-Plug) Conversion

Ok, I fitted the 1ZZ-FE coils and modified loom section. By using part of the rubber sections cut from the old HT leads, the coils fit so snugly, I'm not going to bother bolting or further securing them to the cam cover, as it takes more force to pull one of these out than the standard HT plug! For ...

Re: do dizzy caps wear, or just get crud on the tips?

In most cases yes, but the system NoddE is selling in the affiliates section, is designed to work with a Power FC or standard ECU... I was interested in it, then I realised the Link ECU I have can run CoP on it's own... Just an alternative that's all.. Maybe not cost effective when compared to a num...

Re: do dizzy caps wear, or just get crud on the tips?

Install a CoP set-up using either 1ZZ-FE or R6 coils, possibly using the system available from NoddE. This should prevent degradation in spark performance over time, and in theory give an improved / longer spark. Just an alternative to regular replacement of dizzy cap, rotors and leads, and seems to...
