Re: [Mk2 Generic] RE: Smallest bass speaker

Just another opinion! I've just installed some Alpine SPR-17LS components in the doors of my Rev 3 MR2. I really like the sound and they are plenty loud enough (350W peak, 70W RMS) with a very good bass extension. They work down to 35Hz, so no real need for a sub. Not the easiest to fit (involves us...

Re: [Mk2 Generic] Falken tyres? have you got them?

I had Falken 512s on the back of my n/a and they were very good in the dry, although less trustworthy in the wet. Great price and a nice tread pattern IMHO. I've just put Toyo T1Rs all round on my tubby. The comparison isn't really a fair one as I didn't have Falkens all round, and obviously it was ...

Re: Rear tyres needed

I second the Proxes T1R. Just bought a set of 4 and I love them to bits! I know they aren't the dog's danglies, but for the money, they're hard to beat. It may also be to do with the fact I had Nankang EX500s on the back until recently. The deciding factor in the upgrade was one of those 'surely tho...

Re: t-bar or hard top

You might be lucky and have one that seals properly! You can try a few things if it does leak a bit. 1) it's obvious, but make sure all the sealing rubber is really clean 2) get some silicon lubricant to rejuvenate the seals. You can buy it from Halfrauds - it's to stop squeaky window seals etc. Jus...

Re: t-bar or hard top

T-bar for me! I've had a UK n/a one (leaked) and now have a jap tubby (drizabone!) and would never go for the tintop. I'm one of those who believes those few days a year that the roof come off are worth it. For an interesting comparison with a visually rather similar car (hmmm...any coincidence ther...

Re: Newera Imports ??

Hi All, Sorry if this thread has got out of hand - Miguel and I are now dealing with this off the forum. I don't want IMOC members to think I make a fuss about nothing, though. I have some genuine concerns that were not being dealt with, for whatever reason, but Miguel assures me that this has been ...

Re: Rev 3 Carr Blue

Hi John, Sorry to hear of your problems with your new car :( Always tricky buying sight unseen. If you do decide to go for a refund then I have two Rev 3 cars in Carribean Blue in stock, a coupe and a T Bar. Both 1995 cars. Have a look at our website-www.nvicars.co.uk. By the way we've been importi...

Re: Newera Imports ??

In response to Miguel's post: 1) I didn't say you don't respond to emails, just that I had waited weeks for a response from Tom and that I was currently awaiting a response from you. I treated any email to either of you as an email to Newera Imports - I wasn't really fussy who responded. The salient...

Re: Newera Imports ??

Update:

Just had an apologetic email from Tom at Newera - they are going to pick the car up and have a look what is wrong with it and hopefully sort it out. I hope my faith in their company may yet be restored! =D>

Will post something positive as soon as I know.

Cheers again.

Re: Newera Imports ??

Thanks for your posts guys. I am rapidly coming to that conclusion too. ar$e! Just when I was getting used to that straight line power too...until I get to 4th and things get crunchy anyway! I hope they'll still offer me one - depends on two things: 1) whether they'll pay for the extra £500 I spent ...

Re: Newera Imports ??

Hi! I thought it was better to resurrect this thread than start a new one. This tale of woe may be a long post - sorry, but I am SO frustrated! :x Has anyone had any problems dealing with Newera Imports recently? It feels like I am possibly the only one at the moment :( I bought a Rev 3 tubby ( http...

Re: [Mk2 Turbo] Newbie alert! Which gearbox/lsd do I have?

Thanks Geoff - your info makes things a little clearer. Sounds like it's a standard E153 'box which means most likely a standard LSD too. I'll have a good look around underneath over the weekend and see what I can see. I think it's a standard gear lever, so probably some guy in Japan put the sticker...

[Mk2 Turbo] Newbie alert! Which gearbox/lsd do I have?

I've just bought a Rev 3 GTS import and the gearbox is having synchro issues on 4th. Having read a few posts, it would appear that the cheapest first aid is going to be an oil change. However, with the car being fresh from Japan with no idea of all the mods that have taken place, I have no idea what...
