Re: MK2 Turbo Prices

I noticed the slight increase in prices when I was in the market to buy another rev 3 turbo a few months back. To be fair at the current prices I think the rev 3 turbos are an absolute bargain for what you get anyway. Mid-engined 240BHP RWD goodness \:D/ I think as the cars get rarer we might even s...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Koni adjustables with Tein S Tech springs

Mine came with Tein S-Tech springs fitted and the ride quality and handling was absolutely terrible. The springs lowered the car so much that the suspension would bottom out on the bump stops over the slightest of bumps. Swapped to black Bilstein dampers and Eibach Pro springs, the springs lower th...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Koni adjustables with Tein S Tech springs

A few people very recently have mentioned Meister Zeta R Coilovers .. join the discussion 8-[ I've been for ride in a few MR2s with coilovers but have never been very impressed with the ride quality (read that as no comfort at all  ). Haven't been reading the forum much lately but will certain...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Koni adjustables with Tein S Tech springs

I agree from a performance viewpoint I do prefer the bilsteins+tein setup. It's not that harsh on the motorway and decent town roads but my teeth feel like they are going to fall out if I go anywhere near a supermarket speedbump even at snail pace... possible solution is not to take the MR2 to the s...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Koni adjustables with Tein S Tech springs

Has anyone tried Koni adjustables with Tein S Tech lowering springs before and can comment on the comfort level over bumpy roads? Currently I have yellow bilsteins with Tein S techs on the car. Although I do like how flat the car feels when cornering (quite a lot flatter than when I had koni adjusta...

Thread's been semi-pruned but along with Odin's original message asking people not to hijack the thread so it's a bit confusing now. I'll edit out the off topic stuff from my posts too so the thread is cleaner

Re: My dyno results - what's holding the car back?

Can you connect to the ECU with your laptop and look at the ignition timing you are running under boost?

If it's particularly low - like maybe between 10 to 14 degrees then you may well have your answer.

If the timing figures look reasonable then maybe need to check your base timing is correct?

Re: Rev 3 CT20b or Garrett GT28

Gt2860rs (and perhaps its gtx equivalent) is probably the only gt28 sized turbo that is going to be worth considering over the ct20b. At safe pump fuel boost levels for that turbo size (eg. 17 to 18psi) you would gain a minor increase in power and perhaps a few hundred rpm improvement in spool over ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] weight loss on an NA tbar with tubby engine??

Hi Jim - that's some nice weight savings you've achieved so far and you've still got the more lightweight options left for parts like the bonnet, bootlid, brakes, control arms etc. I noticed you were looking at lightweight exhausts. The lightest dual exit is probably the Mongoose at approx. 13kg inc...

Hi Kerry, I'm trying to source replacement front discs for my Wms Front brake kit. Do you have a record of which type I purchased from you and are they are available separately? If so how much would it be delivered? Thanks :thumleft:

Re: Water/meth injection: a theoretical and practical discussion

Cheers bud. My wife imposed a one year ban on me doing anything car related. Glad that's over with now  Regarding methanol - yes it works great if you map the car for it but you have to be very anal about checking it is all running properly. I could run about 2 degrees more ignition advance saf...

Re: Water/meth injection: a theoretical and practical discussion

I'm running a single solenoid valve before the split, so no check valves to check, and will be easily accessible. Thanks for your input though, I am very interested in all the different setups that folks have applied to this. In terms of water and meth, I'm leaning toward just water at the minute -...

Re: Water/meth injection: a theoretical and practical discussion

Are you going to run one check valve per nozzle JD? I sprayed about 850cc pure methanol about 6 inches pre-throttle body for several years via a single nozzle. The car was mapped for it by reducing the amount of fuel injected in the boosted cells the car operated in whilst spraying methanol. It work...

Re: Any tips on driving a paddle clutch?

Bought a Rev 3 turbo with paddle clutch last night (not sure what brand). Changing up gears is ok, downshifting is a b*stard though  The only way that seems to work is by letting the clutch up reaaaaaaally slowly, which kind of kills the whole rev-matching while downshifting. If I don't do thi...
