as for front bumper rf bars they do turn up on ebay quite often, i got one in as good as new condition in the summer for nearly no money, haven't fully inspected the one on my car but bought the other one as cheap insurance I dissagree with the "enourmous" cost quote for what they are the ...

well with a poor rebore and the block corroded, i'd say its best to source a new engine rather than throw money at an engine that will ultimately fail again & sooner rather than later

holding on to the ears like handlebars ROFLMAO not a stable relationship then but seriously.. could it be easily done (not so much from a technical point of view, I'm more curious about road legalities etc) a MK1 chassis is a heavy piece of kit to lumber an old nag with, and doing so won't make you...

i'm with paul on this, well sourced aftermarket parts are often better quality than oem, gates timing belts are oem parts for many manufacturers anyway, but buying one in a gates box rather than from a manufacturers main dealer will give you a good saving, coolantwise i use silkolene long life I hap...

too late now but for everyone elses info, there is a towing eye underneath the front of the car, using this instead of the visible but more often than not rotted out one on the bumper RF bar will save your front end being ripped of by towing Oh and never appologise for giving a MK1 a thrashing, that...

Ah i see :D Thanks for the info and the welcome :) Ive not uploaded any pics yet as I need to make so many posts on here before i can include URL links :( Does the later 1a have any mechanical differences to the early 1a's then? no just a cosmetic makeover, body/suspension and later engine revision...

Hmm, i think rubber technology has moved on since then! :roll: :lol: Hope it didnt have a bad ending!? Sorry for laughing if it did... no it was ok but would spin up on acceleration and when passing over ironwork in the road, probably ok tyres when new but when delicatey aged were somewhat uncompli...

in answer to your question, earliest 1A cars had black trim bits,later 1As got colour coding & side skirts, transition or more commonly called "crossover" cars are 1B models from '87 model year onwards
seems you have a later 1A
