Re: Newly awaited Club website now live

Hey Guys, no real rush but if I just joined the Club by credit card on the site what do I do about registering for the Forum. Do I have to wait until payment processed and you send me Forum log on password or something?

Re: Newly awaited Club website now live

Abolutely astonishing this new site. Got a few lines into Jinxy's Buyers Guide and realised the depth of this site, in addition to the outstanding design. So I've just signed up and paid my £21 to renew my membership again. Really important I think, for non members or those who've lapsed to renew no...

Newly awaited Club website now live

Have been watching for the new site. Just now did search and message now showing that new website is currently being uploaded ...check after 7.00pm tonight. Can't wait for this. Like so many, my Mark 1 Club membership has lapsed and plan to renew using new site. ...and I don't even have a Mark 1 at ...

Re: mr2 mk1b brand new gear knob on ebay

That's interesting. One of my Mark 1's came with a brand new black leather one, never fitted. The existing one was fine so didn't change it. Just got it out of the drawer I put it in 12 years ago! Going to keep it and watch it appreciate in value :D

Re: Goodbye and Thanks

I'm a mark 1 man currently running a Rev3 NA by way of change. Mark 2 is lovely cruiser, doesn't suffer from rust (wheel arch/windscreen header) problems and from late REV 2 on, has really lovely variable power steering. Combined with great dashboard layout, better comfort and helpful 50% bigger rea...

Re: Sticking caliper

Thanks but no, did it today dust seal like new. One caliper stuck. Easily freed by pushing back in with a clamp then applying brake pedal to push back out. Did that a few times and moves easily now.

Re: Sticking caliper

if you find you need another caliper give me a shout. not far from you. if you dont want the hassle i can do the whole job for you. Yes, cheers Kev. Did think of you. Will first just see if I can free it. Also, yes to those others who posted, I see from manual it's lithium grease round the piston n...

Re: Sticking caliper

Thanks for info. Yes, Google search just now didn't reveal lots of sources of red lithium grease. Looking in motor factors earlier today saw tub of copper grease and says on side for brake piston lubrication? Sounds like it's not going to ruin anything.

Sticking caliper

One of my front brake calipers is stcking causing slight brake binding. Looking at previous receipts for car, it has apparently been rebuilt couple of years ago after was sticking then. Guess I'll initially see if I can free it without stripping the unit, working some copper grease around the piston...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Hub caps on standard REV 3 wheels

No wheel nuts exposed - no need to remove hub cap to take wheel off. In fact it's not really a hub cap but merely a centre bit of plastic trim in the alloy wheel. Just prised it off easily when looked at it just now. Guess it's off to Mr T for another one.

[Mk2] [NA] Hub caps on standard REV 3 wheels

Had new tyres today on my REV 3 and one of the plastic hub caps in the alloywheel centres has got scratched a bit. Do these just prise out of the wheel? Guess you don't have to remove wheel nuts first? Guess quite cheap to replace?

Re: Great Weekend!

How do these things work. Is there a plan for who goes where drawn up before the event or does it just find it's own way on the day? There was barely enough room in the end to line up all the mark 1's together - they were sandwiched by the other two clubs. Maybe next year Mark 1's need to stake out ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Insurance for 17 year old

Andy, Your Rev 3, It's not white in colour is it? I seem to pass one every day on the way either to or from Wallington from the A217. Stuart Hi Stuart, Yes it is white but not sure it's me you see. I'm mostly in another car. Sometimes in MR2 travelling on A217 down to M25 junction and on to Crawley...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Insurance for 17 year old

Hey, thanks for so much response to my thread. Yes, he would spin the MR2 probably and yes, I don't want it damaged. Good idea on him doing trackday in the MR2 to help build experience. Talking to him he's more keen on Corsa/Clio type thing anyway. Apparently that's fashionable. What I really like i...

[Mk2] [Generic] Insurance for 17 year old

Sorry for boring insurance thread but my 17 year old son just passed his driving test. I've a REV 3 NA he could have. Do we really have to sell this car and buy a 1.0 litre Corsa to get him on the road? Dilemma isn't it ...cars just so cheap these days and insurance just so expensive!

Re: JAE 2008. 29th-31st August - Mersea Island**TICKET DEADLINE SET**

Yes, we're in. Just booked holiday that allows us all to come to JAE. Mrs Andyj is intrigued by where I've been going to Mark 1 meets last few years (particularly as I currently have Mark 2). Missed last year but from memory she can park her Audi and pitch her tent alongside rest of us. Looking for...
