Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where to add water temp sender?
I thought the stock coolant temp sensors were on the exit of the engine and before flow to the radiator? Using this position means you are measuring the hottest point (in theory) of the system, which is probably more useful than the temperature before it goes into the engine. Another useful point w...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Where to add water temp sender?
As part of my rebuild, I'm wanting to monitor as much as possible in terms of temperatures etc. All will supply my LINK G4+ Extreme, some will go on to a gauge for quick visual checks too. With my water temp sensor, I'm getting conflicting advice about where to put it in the coolant's journey. For t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch options
I've just fitted a Competition Clutch 6 puck clutch into my forged build and initial impressions are very good. I replaced the slave cylinder, so no doubt that will have helped too, but the action is nice and light making it ok to drive in traffic. Clutch disc is available separately too should I ne...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Road legal semi slick tyre options
What size wheels are you running? Federal RSR595 are excellent, very sticky, but sizes are difficult. You can get a 215/40 R17 for the front, bang on size-wise, but the rear becomes a 255/40 R17, a little higher in profile. Very good value for money, excellent grip, no rubbing issues on 17x8 and 17x...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] LINK G4+ Plug-in ECU on Special!!
How much was the unit at TCB, might be tempted to get one if the offers still on. Pretty sure it's £770 inc vat for the plugin board, if you want to feed it with a wideband o2 signal (essential imo) then you'll need the expansion loom (£30ish) and obviously if you want it to do boost control you'll...

The plugin is actually based on the Extreme board, so technically higher spec than the Storm.

[Mk2] [Turbo] LINK G4+ Plug-in ECU on Special!!
LINK have a promo running throughout November on their plugin ECU for the MR2. I purchased mine form BHP Performance, who have very kindly honoured the promo price retrospectively (as have LINK with them). It saved me over £220!! Just in case anyone's in the market for a LINK plugin ECU :thumleft: C...

Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
Get it on a dyno mate- really don't understand how mappers think they can maximise ignition timing without one...makes no sense to me. Good luck! :thumleft: agreed - road mapping works for the DIYer (like myself), but a dyno is a much better tool, I wish there was a "buy time" dyno near m...

Re: OEM suspension install
You just need to put a second jack under the shock and raise it until it's aligned. Perfectly normal as the shock needs to compress a little :thumleft: No offence Androo but don't do this. Move the bottom arm as there are no fearsome loads to unload by accident that will break stuff including your ...

I can confirm that the Radtec Chargecooler rad is also excellent and they make an MR2 specific version.
You're best dealing direct with them, PM me for details

I did this, with the addition of a dowel inside the pipes to stop it from kinking as I moved them. Worked perfectly for the last 5 years or so

Re: Blyton Park onboard
Looks like you had a lot of fun! I have a love-hate relationship with Blyton Park; it's where I killed my engine at the beginning of the year (ran lean and piston 2 ring land gave up!). How did you find the Yellowstuffs? Sounds like you could do with some sticky tyres too  Boost drop - were you...

Re: Where to get performance brake pads
yeah seems like they have ended it now :( Chris Wilson came back to me, he does have stock so have purchased a full set of these pads. Will report back once they are installed, with new discs, on how they perform. A full set cos the same as just rear Carbotechs. Great choice, they are great pads an...

Hi,
Do you have the nearside rear brake hardline available? It runs from the wheel arch into the engine bay to a union just to the right of the fuel filter.
Thanks,
Mark

A second vote for Tengu Drift. I just bough the inverted setup for my MK2 and he was way cheaper than anywhere else!
