Re: replacement sills - Escort?

That's great thanks. Guess I'll go with the Escort sills. I've bought replacement MR2 parts in the past that needed fettling anyway, not from the ebay guy though admittedly.

Re: Horn relay

hmm, that would explain why I can't find the relay then!

What a pain, I think it's the loom then as everything else seems ok, thanks very much for the replies though

Horn relay

My horn has died, but switch and both horns work so I'm hoping it's the relay. Where is it? cheers. ](*,)

JR filter worn out?

Just bought s/h JR filter. Cleaned it as per K&N and some of the metal gauze has no cotton in it (small proportion) I've never heard of a cone filter wearing out, but is this likely to ruin my engine if I use it? Will the oil and air turbulence pick up any crap that gets through?

Re: air filters??

Nice one! Though the existing pipe doesn't seem to be round where it looks like you've plumbed it in? it only is round after the air reservoir (am I missing something here?!)

Re: air filters??

I've just bought a JR cone filter and am planning to use it with my 1b, is there any reason not to plumb it into the existing metal air pipe that goes into the TVIS (after the air reservoir)? Then I don't have to mess about with the sensors as I was planning on having it in the boot anyway. Anyone k...

JDG panels

I'm quite annoyed! I bought the whole set of rear arch panels off JDG, and the body shop I took them to (very recommended) has told me the panels are crap, they had to spend an extra day cutting and reshaping them to fit. So is it the body shop who are useless or the excessively expensive panels?! g...

Re: rear uneven brake pad wear

hmm, that sounds reasonable. My handbrake is almost non-existent. Will try and free up the whole lot then, I took it all apart and couldn't move the piston at all, was hoping it was to do with not having the right tool but maybe not! Cheers for the info.

rear uneven brake pad wear

Sorry, was on a different forum, here seems more appropriate! The rear pads on my 88' MK1 are very unevenly worn, ie. hardly at all on the innner pads, very much on the outer. So much so that the outer need replacing, the inner looks almost as new. Is this something to be concerned about? cheers.

uneven brake pad wear

Thought I'd look at the rear brake pads to see if they needed changing, the outside pads are down to about 5mm but the inside look almost as thick as new. Is this normal?!

Re: need to mould rear arches - anyone from Notts help please?

maybe I'm being a bit thick, but it should be possible to overlap the new arch with the old on the underside using fibreglass as long as the metal bodywork is very clean. I can't find any info on people doing this with MR2s so i hope i'm not being overambitious! thanks for the offer, but I'll see if...

need to mould rear arches - anyone from Notts help please?

I'm trying to make some replacement rear arches out of fibreglass, but mine are too corroded to easily make a papermache mould. Would anyone allow me to grease their arches with vaseline and make a mould?
