O.K... I shall try and make this as clear and concise as possible.. I have a Blue smoke issue on overrun (slowing down while still in gear downhill ect) The car also Backfires on release of throttle and reapplying throttle slightly.. Interesting..... I have this same problem that persists at a certain rev range...but i have no decat...just a cat back exhaust?? Seems to happen between 2300-3000rpm... :!: And its not the engine stay.. Had a look underneath and the exhaust does seem very close to the subframe and ARB but its solid ...

Yes it will be a better item than the stock actuator, cant quite remember the Spring pressure??
I got mine from fensport..

In the engine section for the MR2 SW20
about half way down its there and give all the info on it too!

sorry to see that buddy, had that done to my Rev1 all over the bonnet after just a month! :( cant understand it!! Jealousy at its best...

Twas a good excuse to upgrade to carbon though!

And never parked in that area again!

Perhaps your actuator spring is abit tired? i had that problem with a slow spool due to a tired actuator on my Rev1.
Upgraged to a forge actuator and problem solved :thumleft: much more responseive \:D/

:D Got my new cover today, Very clean and tidy! Removed the old one (all three fixings had cracked around the top edge) Fitted the new gasket and some blue instant gasket around the 2 cam ends and the dizzy end. Refitted all parts (tightend only hand tight this time!!!!... No cracks :wink: Run it up...

Cam Cover Cracked!

Just Swaped the cam cover seals today with some fresh ones, as the old ones where leaking. After refitting the cover tightening in sequence and in stages. The top three Bolt holes where they extend out slight to accomidate the bolts cracked!! and this was not even with an overly ammount of tightness...

Ahhh haaa, Thanks for that Toxo! I will confirm this i think with a Toad dealer then give it a go, If it does go boobs up, I'll blame you totaly!... Yeah, Just had a look in the paper work i have with the Toad and all it states is that it will automaticly unlock the doors if there locked when the ignition is switched off.. helpful lol

Sorted!!!..

Got in there today Switched a wire around and BAM! working like it should 8) but.....

When i lock the car and the timer does its motions and turns the car off.

The doors unlock..
Any ideas how to get around this one? Car is fitted witha Toad alarm/immobliser.

I think they can come on very early, as in they are quite sensitive. Althou it can be annoying. At least the engine is being fed with plenty of cool air! :)
Mite be wise to check out the sensor anyways just incase of a fault..?

I think i may have a solution, afew of the wires seem to be incorrectly connected..

After finding the english intructions online i may have solved the problem. Will get out to the car tomorro hopfully and have a play again!

Hi guys, This may have already been covered, but a quick search has come up empty.. Plus i maybe being a complete noob as well.. Fitted it into the harness under the steering wheel, connected the earthwires to a ground point on the chassis. Also connected a wire to the handbrake switch and then back...
