I haven't turned my elise back box over, i will be welding different hangers on it though to get it too where i want it to be.
the only thing thing i will be doing is making the exits slightly further apart.

Re: DIY respray of the whole car - crazy or a good idea?
Yeah my mate keeps banging on about plasti dipping his car as well so I'm certainly considering it as we could import a pro-kit and share the cost and do two cars. I'd be looking to do a gloss white and reading the forums it doesnt look too difficult, the set up costs are much lower and it seems to...

Re: DIY respray of the whole car - crazy or a good idea?
I will probably get slated for this but here goes. Have you ever thought of plastidip ? There are tons of videos on youtube about it, a uk website with all of their available products. Some whole kits which include spray gun mask etc at quite reasonable prices, there is also stuff on ebay...

Re: Taking delivery of a Haslbeck Mr2
I think it's perhaps just as well the car was so rotten, it made it an easy decision to make molds so the kit can be reproduced for anyone that wants one rather than it being a one off.... the car was lying in a garden for 6 years and had a small herb garden growing INSIDE the car in the drivers fo...

Re: DIY respray of the whole car - crazy or a good idea?
i think if you were spraying a panel at a time and you didn't mind waiting for the air build up every so often then you probably could get away with a 50l tank but i would say 100 is a minimum and depending on your gun then the airflow is super critical, from what i can tell most small compressors s...

Re: DIY respray of the whole car - crazy or a good idea?
I had a go at painting my car... i think its true about the quality of the finish but it depends on why you want to do it.. for me it was about giving it a go but then my car is not needed on the road (good job as its been 7-8 years) so i could do it at my leisure and i certainly am not after a conc...

ethos of doing a bit when i can continued... i worked on getting the T-Bar seals installed. After giving them a fully soapy water clean and getting plenty of adhesive into the silver runners i ended up with this: http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz119/boondougal/CABA25F4-CAF9-4FE0-9509-D9CC6F0075E...

Re: rear brake dilema
Hi folks. Noticed a metal on metal noise on my rear brakes this morning and when i came to examine and strip i found no brake pad at all on the nearside outer! i was shocked! Looking for new brake discs and basically everywhere i look lists a different disc diameter. Its a 1987 mk1 B n/a. Alex Hi A...

Re: Antenna/aerial location?
:salut: My -89 does not have a visible antenna/aerial anywhere on the car. None of my recent googlings have helped in this so I need to ask: Is there a "hidden" electronic or such antenna in an -89 and if so where is it located, please? My car has been repainted few years ago and the poss...

Re: Mk1b restoration... its alive..and painted!!
They are from a Mk2 Mx5 i think 1998 - 2005, Not really seen any formula to the models they seem to be on.
there are quite a few on ebay but i picked mine uo about 5-6 years ago really cheap as they needed a full refurb... which i would have done anyway so it worked out ok for me.

Re: Mk1b restoration... its alive..and painted!!
Just thought i would update the thread to say that i have been working on re installing all the T-Bar bits and Pieces. I didn't really get any pictures but needless to say.. center bar was Fubar, the original 4 bolts all snapped off when i took it out but the spot welds on the little brackets undern...

Yep, its a motor. Should electrically rise when you turn the radio / car on.
very very prone to failure though.

Re: Antenna/aerial location?
should be on the drivers rear quarter panel, right near the rear corner just next too the spoiler. If you remove you boot lining on that side you should be able to see if the wires are still feeding to that point. I,ve not heard of an OEM "internal" antenna but i guess if its been respraye...

Re: Lauren's 4AGE build by Tom (Icunonsove)
The only downside of this thread is the fact that its highlighting all the things i didn't do when i rebuilt mine!  Agree on the best way to learn is to have a go but the beauty of the internet is that people like Tom are sharing their experience making it so much easier to be confide...
