Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] speaker upgrade options
Depends on how much you want to spend on components then. Do you have an aftermarket head unit? Without amplification, you won't get anything much louder than stock, as even a decent head unit is only going to be putting out 10 - 15WRMS. You can get something of a much higher quality of course. Pret...

Nice one.
They are hard to find, might be worth contacting the manufacturers directly and seeing how much a woofer costs through their spares department?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] has anyone got set of these speekers?
Nice speakers for the money. Even with 60WRMS, they will be reasonably loud due to their sensitivity. In fact, you can work out the peak SPL using SPL = sensitivity + 10 log (amp power), which is about 110dB. Thats peak though, and doesnt tell you anything about how they will sound at that kind of l...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] speaker upgrade options
Depends on how much work you are willing to do. Most 5.25inch speakers should be a straight swap, and all 6.5inch speakers require spacers / adapters to make them fit. Most will fit in the standard door cards, some 6.5inch with adapters may require cutting the door card to get them to fit. how much ...

I would sell these as off road usage only tbh, without E-markings they are not road legal.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Help finding me some new wheels!
No problem, I have been looking into a set myself - Rimstyle quoted £980 for 17x8 front and 17x9 rear Rota Torque drifts with T1R's all round, electronically balanced and locking wheelnuts, which seems reasonable for what they are, just need to find that much money

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Help finding me some new wheels!
What sort of style are you looking for? Rota do quite a lot of their wheels in various widths, but most retailers do not advertise staggered setups. However, if you email them your requirements (Rimstyle are usually very helpful) they will give you a quote.

Yeah, those are the buggers. Over time, the bushes wear and will deteriorate.

Tyre pressures? Suspension bushes can make a car feel very loose and uncertain.

The regs in the link I posted are specifically for aftermarket retrofitted HID's, if they were factory fitted then that isnt a problem.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Looking for a good speaker to drop into the OEM sub box
Well, you can always wire them up as is for now, and if you feel you could do with a more power / clarity, you can add an amp another time. I would suggest installing with an MDF baffle though regardless, and sound deadening around the speaker area would be a good idea while you are there, even the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Looking for a good speaker to drop into the OEM sub box
All you need a is a stereo amplifier and wiring to go with it - I assume the speakers came with a passive corssover, so you need some power cabling, some phono and some speaker wire.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Looking for a good speaker to drop into the OEM sub box
I would knock up some MDF baffles anyway, it will give a more solid mount, which means less vibration and better low frequency response. Its worth sound deadening, but its up to you if you want to do it as the deadening material can be quite expensive.
