[Mk2] [NA] Pop from brakes
When I apply the brakes I can hear a single metallic pop or click from my brakes. I think it is coming from the front drivers side caliper. I just recently had this caliper replaced, as the old one siezed, but this popping sound occured with the old caliper and as well as with the new one. What do y...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] New Wheels
Cheers for the reply, I was going to get 235x40 on the rears as soon as ive got the best out of the tyres. Would it be ok to run 215x45 on the front and 235x40 on the rear? I'm imagining my front would sit a fair bit higher than the rear with that setup. Also any particular tyres reccomended for an ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Caliper Rewind Tool?
I used this from halfords with no problems: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_214227_langId_-1_categoryId_165469 You could probably get it cheaper elsewhere (ebay) but I needed it on the day. I'd definitly reccomend using one rather tha...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] No power to headunit and remote locks dont work
A ground connection might have been damaged whilst at the body shop. You could try wiring in a new ground lead. My head unit wouldn't turn on until I did this.
Not too sure about the door locks though.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Central Locking (rev3)
Today I took the white switch off the back of the passenger lock. When I turned it with some pliers it locked the drivers side door but not the passenger door. This leads me to believe that the problem is something to do with the motor in the passenger door that locks the door. Is this relatively si...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Active Audio Wiring Mess
That's what I ended up doing in the end as well. Now the head unit is on all the time, even without the keys in the ignition, but I can live with that!

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Central Locking (rev3)
Thanks, I'll have a rummage around the lock when I get home and see if I can fix it. Edit - I found the white switch on the back of the barrel, took it off and cleaned it but no luck. If I turn the white switch with some pliers it only locks/unlocks the drivers door. Could the motor in the passenger...

[Mk2] [NA] Central Locking (rev3)
My UK rev3's has got central locking (not remote) but it only locks/unlocks both doors when the key is turned in the passenger lock. When you use the key in the driver's door it only locks/unlocks the driver's door. If I use the door lock switch on the door's control panel it only locks/unlocks the ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Active Audio Wiring Mess
I don't know if it's the same as a rev 2, I suppose it is if all the wires are the same colour. I got a constant whining noise from mine when then engine was on so I just connected random loose wires together until the noise stopped. Don't know if I should reccomend doing that but thats how I sorted...

[Mk2] [NA] Active Audio Wiring Mess
Hi, I've just bought a 1995 Mk2 Rev3 N/A with the active audio system (2 subs behind seats). The car came with a sony CDX-GT50UI that had not been wired in. After removing it I discovored why; the wiring was an absolute mess! Ive tried to tidy it all up and have spent all day seaching the internet t...
