Re: Rev3 Turbo - SMG - NOW BREAKING

VERY jealous of the suspension tidy up. Seriously considering attempting something like that myself too, but it's pretty daunting.

Re: Dashboard issue...

Check everything behind the dash is connected properly? I disconnected my cigarette lighter once and nothing worked any more, except hazards / indicators

Probably not it, but easy to check!

Re: Replaced Drop Links - still knocking & a hub problem

I haven't checked them no. That's interesting. It's quite a loud knock.

Replacing ARB bushes would be a case of removing undertray, unbolting the entire ARB structure and replacing? Probably as well to do it with a new ARB if I can find one I suppose?

Replaced Drop Links - still knocking & a hub problem

Just finished doing my two front droplinks as I thought that was what was causing the knocking noise from the car. Previously they were done at 92,800 miles - I have now redone them at 103,800 miles. However the knocking is still there. Could it be track rod ends & how much of a PITA is it to fi...

Re: front drop links

I think I'll choose to buy from Toyota as my oem rears are still going 17 years on, whereas my fronts were replaced feb 2009 with eBay's best, and are gone.

Also - I need a new front ARB. Second hand Whitelines or TRDs are the options I've seen. Are there others?

What's the best way to buy from Toyota? Local dealer?

Or do we have a Toyota rep on here who can get us OEM parts?

You're being taken for a ride or you've bought a car that's clearly for the scrap!

Some of those things can be dealt with cost effectively and easily.

Re: Rusty doors

Metal + oxygen + water = corrosion. It's always going to rust. I posted a topic looking at my rust recently and since visited a prestige and sports cars restoration company. They gave me the lowdown on it and really even the best fix is sadly temporary :(

A lot of this is over my head, but I love the tenacity and the diagnostician's nature with which this is being done.
