Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car sometimes doesn't start - battery fine - bump starting works.

right just went out to the car, and it wouldnt start again #-o been told it may be the starter motor relay as well.... going to go down the scrappy in a bit and find one. However I poured hot water over the starter motor and turned the key and it actually attempted to click twice, then went back to ...

I've ordered a brand new starter motor so will get that on and see what happens :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car sometimes doesn't start - battery fine - bump starting works.

only been able to get off the wire from from the side that connects to the engine, it was in a pretty bad state so filed that all down and cleaned the contact point and bolted it back. The other side of the wire was stuck fast, so I've wd40'd it and will try and get it off tomorrow or later today. B...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car sometimes doesn't start - battery fine - bump starting works.

right I've found the wire your talking about jim, its a PITA to get to though.

WD40'd it up as it seems stuck solid and doesn't look in great condition either so would like to get it out and have a look. Will post up how I get on.
