Mine has started doing this but only when warm.

FWIW??? i bet i didnt leave it long enough then. i applied it to both surfaces left it for about 5-10 mins then applied. it wasnt a particulally hot day. and its stayed sealed for about 2 weeks. its only this week its started and thats if it is the sump gasket??? i am only saying this as i didnt tak...

whats the best to use to seal the sump???
i resealed mine but its dripping still.
i used halfords instant gasket.
is there a gasket available???

i know there is 2 or 3 bolts out but none are near each other so i thought it'd be ok.

i have been told that the torque settings are
stage 1 25NM
stage 2 49NM
then 90degree turn
not doubting ppl just trying to confirm things

its a bit late for that as its all in pieces lol

Ok so I've started to tackle this today. Couldn't get the head in cos they was closed. But I started on the removal of pistons. But I've got stuck. I can't get the bottom end off. Your right my head is spinning with several thoughts etc.
I will take the head to the engineers 2morro hopefully and get the pistons out Saturday.

I have got some good Rev 2 blocks here, may just need a hone and refit your pistons, but do not think the worst, it may just be a damaged piston in number 1 or nothing at all. If you do not check the pistons and there is a problem you will only find it when you run the engine again, then it all has to come apart again. There is no cost in taking the pistons out and checking them apart from getting a piston ring compressor to help you to put them back in the bores. You mu...

It might be warped to hell matey, until it's pressure checked and flat edge checked, I'd presume thermal expansion has cause the bolts to stretch. Yeah for some reason it's blowing the oe thermostat out. So they put inline thermostat in.
