Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Best way of removing bonded/blended side skirts?
Hi mate Sounds common sense, but first thing i would do would be take off the interior trim behind the seats to see if there are any screws also holding the kit in place as well as fibreglass/PU adhesive. feel gently with your fingers for this, but be careful as if self tappers have been used, they ...

Re: snow
Its doable if you ride sensible. I ride 100 miles a day, 5 days a week. its the only way I can get to work (train would cost me £3600 a year). I dont enjoy it, especially when its -5 degrees and ive got an hour and a half journey ahead of me, 30 minutes each way of that being on the motorway... IT's...

I would check the MAF sensor, mate. They are quite renowned to cause similar problems and quite a common failure point.

Looks lovely, Sam! Im assuming you have a warm garage?? There is no way id be polishing and waxing in this level of cold weather. You wouldnt get it to adhere properly, surely? Re: Andy's Roadster project
Thanks, guys. Yesterday was the first time Ive had the hardtop off since fitting the kit! Its back on now, but had to take a couple of pictures. I honestly thought it wouldnt look as good with the hardtop off, but actually, I kinda prefer it again?? Even the softtop on made it look sleeker?? Wish it...

Is that not a Bomex front bumper rather than a Border, as described in your ad?
Looks like a lovely example BTW!

Re: Car done in Vinyl wrap
3m is supposed to be the best stuff and they dont make gloss carbon, they say you can cover it it clear vinyl or clearcoat it but it would still be textured. Im not buying that... id put money on 2k lacquer melting it. Will knock a batch up though and give it a go at some point. ive got some vinyl ...

Thanks mate. Yes, its 3M, too. Ive not seen the gloss carbon vinyl before. especially not in the flesh. Would look better, however the matt stuff does at least resemble dry carbon.

Re: Andy's Roadster project
Hi SuperRed. The alloys that came on the car werent in great shape. Fortunately, I bought a set with good tyres that were in much better condition than mine, so i sprayed them and just swapped the set straight over (still have the old set if you know anyone that wants some!). If I were to paint the ...

Thanks very much, Sam! As for the rear lights, I just cleaned them and masked them up on the car. Im really happy with them. Didnt want completely blacked out rear lights, I dont like the facelift ones but just wanted something that looked a little meaner. I think next on the list is to paint all th...

Andy's Roadster project
Thought i would post a few pics of my mk3 as Ive spent a bit of time doing a few bits and pieces to it since I bought it in July (considering a month of between now and then was out of action due to a stag do, birthday, wedding and honeymoon!). Bodywork was tatty, but most importantly, the engine wa...
