Re: Mystery coolant leak

Either replace the stat for a genuine one or at least test it in a cup of boiling water, just to cross it off the list.

Re: Mystery coolant leak

If you have checked the normal leak spots, remove the bleed screw at the frunk, the one on top of the radiator.

It has a plastic O ring, check that its not broken or perished.

Did you replace the thermostat for a genuine one, test the existing one as well.

Re: MR2 MK3 Roof replacement

I have a good secondhand roof that I am selling, complete with folding frame, so it unbolts as one unit.

£250 collection only from East Sussex.

Re: Clutch replacement

All in I think.

New LUK clutch kits can be had for less than £65 delivered and its probably a 5-6 hour job.

Going to change a blown gearbox soon which will involve fitting a new clutch so will let you know how long it takes.

£300 seems to be the reasonable cost others have paid.

Re: Handbrake issues

Hi Lee Always has been the way, wind it all the way in then out 180 degrees for the HB to work properly without it being hit and miss. If you need any parts, HB cables etc let me know and I will add them to the rear crash bar package as I haven't wrapped it all up yet. Don't have the rear calipers t...

Re: Good compression but using oil - can anyone help in the Bristol area?

I have a very good facelift engine done around 70,000 miles sitting here with a new clutch already fitted. Was going to put it in my roadster but ended up breaking it. See my thread for photos and price.

Re: Rev2 Alloy Wheels

Hi

I am after a set of staggered alloys and wheel nuts if you have them, can collect as not too far away.

Are you advertising the ebay auction on here or are you selling the alloys?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Problem getting into 2nd gear.

What about first?

Try taking off the gear level cover and inspect the mechanisms underneath......could be a bolt thats blocking the path.

Re: Rev 1 JDM vs Rev 1 UK

I would say neither engine is more reliable/powerful, only how its been driven and serviced makes any difference. None of the slight changes in JDM and UK engines would make any difference in the real world driving, ie, you will still get to work on time and you wont shave tenths of a second off the...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] rev 3 hard to get second even after new clutch and box

Sounds like the gear shift cables....I would unhook them from the box, and move them by hand to see if they are snagging up.....pull off the gear lever surround and remove the center console and take a look at them.
