Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] More stereo woes
Other than the aerial there was no earth, plus the head unit was toast. Have established a new earth and bought a new head unit so it's working now.

[Mk2] [Turbo] More stereo woes
Ever since I disturbed my aerial unit I've had problems with the stereo. I have an aftermarket stereo which has been wired directly to the battery by a previous owner. I understand the aerial unit serves as the earth for the stereo and every so often the power would be lost, I'd mess around with the...

Re: Mystery coolant leak
Cooling system issues are an absolute nightmare to sort, particularly with the SW20 it seems. If filling and bleeding doesn't yield any results, I'd say its worth investing in a sniff testing kit to detect hydro-carbons in your coolant. They aren't particularly expensive (I paid about £40) are very ...

Rusty Sills Finally Tackled
Been a while since I posted on the forum, but as its an affliction that most SW20 owners are facing these days I thought I'd start a thread on my attempt at tackling the dreaded rot! So, a little background; So I bought my Rev 2 Turbo in 2005 with 54k on the clock, its covered a lot of miles in that...

Re: MR2 vs MRS
I have to say I am surprised by people commenting on SW20 brakes. Read any contemporary road test and its just about the only aspect of the SW20 that received universal approval.
Have those owners come to the SW20 from newer cars with overly servo'd brakes perhaps?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Major Coolant Leak!
Just to update this thread, it was indeed the no.6 coolant bypass hose, the one that should be heat wrapped except mine wasn't thanks to a so called mr2 specialist who replaced the hose 4 years ago. Anyway was replaced by Fensport who managed to change it within a couple of hours so the shock to the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Major Coolant Leak!
I had the hoses from hell replaced in 2009 by 3S so I assumed they were ok. I suppose its possible that they replaced one but not the other......would seem odd though.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Major Coolant Leak!
So, last night I decided to drive the mr2 back to work (140 miles) for the first time since Christmas, and it developed a sudden coolant leak that I luckily noticed before the engine overheated. The leak looks to be coming from somewhere near the exhaust manifold, it cant be seen from above or below...

[Mk2] [Generic] Aerial Won't Earth!
So back in December I decided to replace my broken aerial mast, in the process I unscrewed the aerial housing from the bracket which I now understand provides an earthing point and surprise surprise I now can't get it to earth so I have no stereo. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, I've tighte...

Re: [FINALIZED] *PRICE DROP* 17" Dotz Mugello Alloys for Sale
tempted too, would the fronts fit under standard shocks?? They should do, the company I bought them from told me that yet were the correct fitment for an SW20 with standard suspension. I can't personally speak from experience though as I've only ever had them whilst running with my Tein SuperStreet...

I'll try to find out. It's embossed on the inside of each wheel but it's difficult to make out.

[Mk2] [Generic] No Power to Stereo after Replacing Aerial Mast
So I finally got around to replacing my aerial stalk, and now I have no power to the stereo. The dome fuse looks fine as does the radio fuse (top left 15a fuse in the footwell I believe?) Checked behind the stereo and all looks ok, any ideas? Reading some of the threads on here it would seem that th...
