Re: [Mk2] [NA] Were to get decent pads for n/a
The only way I can see that an accelerating car would need more braking to stop is that as you throttle off it can take a moment for the air pressure in the intake to drop and the injector to stop feeding fuel. The fuel/air mix does not go from 100% throttle to 0% instantly, although it is pretty qu...

MR2 Rev2 Blue N/A 65K miles £350
Hi all, my MR2 is for sale as I need to get a larger car. It's only at 65K miles and starts and drives well. MOT until April 2011. Interior is ok with a small repaired tear on the drivers seat. Recent tyres and battery, oil and filter service + spark plugs done only 2K miles ago. Needs cambelt doing...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Leaking Boot
Just because the paper under the spoiler doesnt get wet doesn't mean the spoiler holes arn't leaking. On my N/A the water was coming through there and collecting in the tubular brace parts ofr the boot lid and running down to the side of the boot before coming down into the central area under the fo...

Re: changing altinator belt...???
You would have to take the aircon belt off to replace the alternator belt. Access is a bit tight but I had no trouble getting at it from underneath when the car was on ramps. Remove the diagnostics block and horn from the back bulkhead and your access to the belt and adjusters from above is greatly ...

Re: Bolt size for undertrays
My car has a habit of shedding these bolts so I've had to replace plenty of them. Use a locking washer and some copper slip to stop the corrosion. A large repair washer is a good idea too as the plastic will be less stressed and less likely to pull throguh then. Not a major concern but you might as ...

Re: No ABS
I'm feeling the same cdti, hard barking causes lock ups. I think the answer in my case is better tyres as the ones on there are quite meh (Goodyear NCT5s :( ). Is it always the same wheel that locks up first? If so then get allignment checked and think about new bushs. Suspension plays as much a par...

Re: Old Turbo vs old N/A; what would you buy?
It was on autotrader the week before Christmas and as stated is a little cosmetically challenged! Payed full asking price of £650, couldn't bring myself to haggle that down any further. As I plan on doing the work myself I'll have a good condition low milage MR2 for around a grand. As stated for £80...

Re: Old Turbo vs old N/A; what would you buy?
I have just bought my first MR2 and it was a cheapy. At £650 for a 1993 N/A at 59K miles and FSH I got a bargain despite the rusty arch and keyed drivers door. I have however had to get a new clutch fitted in the first month which it less of a bargain. However even with this I'm still well in credit...

Can you drill the screws out? I'm not sure of the arrangement so don't know if they go into anything delicate.

Movement in driver's back rest
The driver's seat back rest moves about 1-2cm back and forward in the 3 lean postitions that are comfortable for me. All the others have less than 5mm movement and the passenger seat has 1-2mm movement at most. It appears the release and locking mechanism must be worn, is there an easy fix for this ...

Re: lowered cars, pulling to one side?
I've noticed that the MR2 pulls in the direction of the road camber more than any other car I've owned. Any change in the road surface or bump is transmitted back to the wheel which was un-nerving at first. I think it's just very direct feedback to the wheel. Then again there might be something wron...

Hampshire Garage Suggestions
My clutch has started slipping when I put my foot down over 3K RPM in all gears. I could do the job myself but wanted to get some quotes from a garage or two first as I don't fancy the job in this weather. The problem is the local garages don't want the work as it's too much of a pain. Can anyone re...

If it's any help that wire doesn't connect to anything on my Rev2 N/A either.
There are 3 connectors so far I've found with nothing on them.

Re: Cambelt question - possibly very noobish
Well the cambelt service is due on that car so needs to be factored in. However if the engine still runs then no damage has been done to the car yet so don't worry that it's not been done yet. If it had failed the engine would already be scrap. However it should be first on your list of things to do...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Silence sure ain't golden
When I did this I missed a single bullet connector off the back that was not labelled.
It was the power supply to the rest of the active system.
The head unit would power up but nothing was happening.

This might be a stupid question but with bike trackdays I've always had a form to print out and bring with me. What do I need to bring with me to this trackday apart from myself and my car? Re: [Mk2] [NA] Cambelt + Bits Change
What difference does a low temp thermostat make then? Is it as simple as it opens up at a lower temperature?

Surely this just means it takes longer to warm the engine up, are there
any benefits?
