Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My Aerodynamic rework: Giving the MR2 downforce
nice work, but learning to drive properly would make more difference , no offence like , just saying. I can't possibly see how this can't be offensive, unless you know him personally and are able to critisize his driving ability. No offense taken, because last year I did a driving course ...

Re: Got Spark, got fuel, but it wont start!
It is a single layer PCB - if you are handy with a soldering iron i'd give a DIY repair a go :thumleft: I was considering it. Not only has the resistor leaked and potentially changed resistance but theres nothing left of one of its legs. The only way to repair it would be to source another resistor...

Spot on, one of the resistors has leaked and corroded through the contact. New ECU required then.
Cheers.

Re: Got Spark, got fuel, but it wont start!
Ive checked the spider earth, it wasnt loose, but i removed it and cleaned it up anyway. made no difference. So i did the checks on the ECU: http://www.lovehorsepower.com/bgb/mechanical/volume1/efi_system/Manual_0494_0001.jpg Results which were not as specified: IDL-E2 = 14V. Could get it within ran...

Re: Got Spark, got fuel, but it wont start!
my inlet manifold is earthed by the boost pressure take off on the right hand side and is well grounded. where is the one underneath the manifold? Ive changed the fuel pump relay and it didnt make a difference. starter relay doesnt have continuity like inspection manual says but still seems to work....

Got Spark, got fuel, but it wont start!
In April i was 100 miles into a 105 mile journey and the engine unexpectedly stalled. Called AA, he checked the spark, put a voltmeter on the EFI fuse i think, and said fuel pump was working correctly. It wouldnt start up so it got towed home. Everytime i went to start it up after that it worked fin...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My Aerodynamic rework: Giving the MR2 downforce
But even on a 1000Kg Noble, no real effects were noticed until 120mph, and a car 30% heavier the effects are going to be less. ....wheel arches filling up with air caused by the high speed rotation of the wheels. Which is why all race cars have some sort of venting of the wheel arches. Even with 48...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My Aerodynamic rework: Giving the MR2 downforce
How did you measure the downforce before and after so you know you have made any difference? It's very difficult to do. It cost £25K to put a Noble into the MIRA wind tunnel with an aero technician for 2 days. Improvements were made and measured. No aero really works at less than 120mph, and even t...

[Mk2] [Turbo] My Aerodynamic rework: Giving the MR2 downforce
So ive been saying for a long time that I was going to do some aero mods on my car. Why? Because ive done virtually every mod I wanted to up to doing expensive engine work, and £500 spent on aerodynamics will be far more influential than £500 spent on engine power. In april I got it up on axle stand...
