Where do you all buy your parts?

Before I bought the MR2 I was driving Saabs and the first thing I learnt then is to NEVER go to Saab for parts. I've just discovered I need a new exhaust as the Super Megaphone fitted to my rev2 turbo is rusted through on the pipe from cat to silencer. Would Toyota sting me badly for a standard part...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Any idea what this connector is for?

Yeah I was surprised when I found a loose plug with so many wires, yet there isn't anything important that isn't working. I sorted the horn (dodgy relay) and I doubt it's anything audio related. I suspect there is an ABS fault and a previous owner cut the connection there so the light never comes on...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Any idea what this connector is for?

Thanks, I'll let you know how many dash warning lights come on when I plug it in :) I'm betting on the ABS light. Tell you what I'll go and see if I can do it in the dark.

brb :)

Great, thanks guys. I didn't expect the glovebox to be removeable. I'll plug it in tomorrow and see what happens.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Any idea what this connector is for?

I was tampering with my car earlier and noticed a big connector with about 26 pins hanging loose in the passenger footwell. I could see it's mate way up within the dash, above a big round thing (blower motor?) There's no way in hell I can get my hand up there. Can anyone identify it for me? If it's ...

Re: Yet another newbie

Thanks for the welcomes. The bumper is also slightly warped at the offside, some small incident has popped out a few screws and some gaps have developed between it and the black trim. It's only a minor thing. I'll try to get underneath when it dries up outside but the exhaust doesn't look like the s...

Yet another newbie

Well a couple of you might recognise me from a thread I started not long ago asking what you thought of a certain Ebay item... Today is the first chance I've had to tinker with it in daylight, gave it a jetwash and a quick spiffing up which as you know is a good way to find kinks. Obviously took som...

Re: New to MR2s, advice before I empty my wallet please :)

Well, that was an adventure! 250 miles to have a look at a car is a bit too far, I now realise. Luckily it wasn't a wasted trip - I bought it in a hearbeat, it really is as described  For the T-Cut I meant the smashed up car above... My one is just going to get a nice layer of wax next time th...

Re: New to MR2s, advice before I empty my wallet please :)

That's going to take a LOT of T-Cut!!

Thanks, have done the check and this reggo is clear. It did however give a partial VIN to check, which I will do.

Re: New to MR2s, advice before I empty my wallet please :)

Thanks, all great info. I was about to post again regarding rev2/3 because I haven't figured that out yet... Mileage is suspicious but I'll take a look at his paperwork, only problem is I'm currently driving a 4.0L Jeep (seemed like a laugh at the time!!) so it's going to cost me £70 just to go have...

New to MR2s, advice before I empty my wallet please :)

Hi I've just left the world of Saab 900 Turbo's after losing heart (my limited-edition Carlsson developed serious rust problems after a serious suspension problem and a serious gearbox problem... you get the picture!!) I've been trying to learn as much as possible before buying an MR2 but an opportu...
