Re: Do insurers charge more for NA to Turbo conversions anymore?

When I was with A-plan they charged me £75 more when my Rev 5 was converted to turbo with charge cooler and all other mods declared including engine bay spray job.

I was very happy :thumleft:

Best to call your insurer and get a price before conversion. That's what I did

Re: mk2 turbo - flat battery - heavy duty options?

I bought a Bosch S4 battery when I had the turbo conversion done. Car sat for 3 months and battery died, just got a replacement one under warranty no questions asked.

Here's the place I got it from on ebay. They have a discount on at the moment - £63.59 delivered!

interesting, are they all insurance jobs? Nearly all cars are accident damage from various insurance companies. You can put your own car in as a auction sale once your a member and you do see them from time to time. They do other stuff like televisions, jewellery, motor bikes, etc. If you do decide...

Heads up - Possible Rev 5 turbo in Copart

There's what looks like a genuine Rev 5 Turbo import.

Can't see the engine bay but got to be worth it if it is a turbo!

In Copart (Bristol) auction ends tomorrow:

Which insurer are you with? Definitely for a fruity car like an engine swap, there's no point pretending that insurance with admiral will work out. You need a specialist who understands what a 3sgte is as opposed to a 3sge IMHO. I reckon repairing it will be a lost cause if you've bent too much sus...

Sorry to hear of your woes. I can certainly empathise with you with regards to the car damage :( We all make mistakes at some point. Nobody was hurt, other than egos, so just take it as a lesson learnt :) When my incident happened the general opinion was to re-shell (just done all the engine work),...
