Conversion - Part 2

Right update time. The plan for the long weekend was to get the NA lump out, remove rad, and slap the turbo in, chargecooler and new rad. Stripping the silver shadow was easy, no rusted bolts. I’m sure there would have been but with Luke only doing the conversion a while ago, all bolts came off nice...

Re: Georgie - Rev 3 Turbo

Good work going on here mate. I'll have to try and catch up with you when the conversion is done. Your only 10 minutes away. It would be wrong not to pop in. Glad you sorted an engine crane :thumleft: Rusted bolts are a bit of a nightmare. My silver shadow came apart nice and easy but I'm guessing w...

Re: Turbo conversion wiring help/advice - SORTED

So I've found more info on an American website: Click This page links to many diagrams, excel sheets and word documents detailing wiring info for a rev3 conversion. The big question is, can I use the info considering it's for a USDM loom??? Also found this thread on MR2OC: Click This link details he...

Re: Turbo conversion wiring help/advice - SORTED

Update on this. I’ve been doing some research and this is what I’ve found so far. I’ve read the igniter wiring needs to be modified. I’ve read the rear brake lights need to be modified because the UK models have fog lights but I have a JDM version. I have a fog light but I’m guessing that’s been wir...

Re: Krish's MR2 - CONVERSION FINISHED - LOVING IT - pg5

Kelvin is a good guy, had a fair few parts from him when he changed his mind. I wish I could help with the wiring, mine was a rev 4 turbo engine into a rev3 an shell. Tbh most of my help came direct from Paul woods over the phone, the guy is certainly knowledgable. From what I remember though there...

Turbo conversion wiring help/advice - SORTED

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of a turbo conversion Link to profile I have a JDM Rev 4 NA and trying to put a rev 3 turbo lump in. So far I know I don't need to touch the body loom and that a few wires need to be spliced to make things work. I've found the ECU pinout for the 3SGTE but nothing for the ...

Re: Krish's MR2 - CONVERSION FINISHED - LOVING IT - pg5

That's impressive work, always interesting the first time you strip it down, it definitely gets easier once you're familiar with what goes where. It's a shame I'm not over that way any more, I'd have been there to give you a hand. Do you know kelvin? (Kayjay) He is just round he corner from you. He...

Re: Krish's MR2 - CONVERSION FINISHED - LOVING IT - pg5

It's never just easy is it #-o You don't need to have the cancer bars but they will help. I believe Pacific Works sell replacements, should you choose to put new ones in. Personally I'd look at replacing the entire hose, both if the other has wear on it too. If it's not doing it's job properly you'...

I’m Back! New MR2 & Turbo Conversion Imminent!!

Hi everyone been ages since I’ve posted, mainly because I’ve been busy with life but it’s time for an update! It all ended with the crash in June last year, since then I got the Corsa as a run around (such a great little car) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q684/Krishpamar/1_zps98e1ce1d.jpg http...
