Doesn't sound like big ends to me. When they go they tend to go with the the RPM's. I.E. faster the RPM's, faster the knocking.

Yea I guess it was a bit of a vague description. I'll be changing coilovers at the weekend so will wait and see if it still knocks after that. I'll just work through a process of elimination.
