What's wrong with my steering column?
I had a problem with my self cancelling not working on my indicators. I couldn't seem to get the studs on the indicator ring aligned with the Momo boss holes. The car went into a garage for some welding and to get my horn working for the MOT and they fitted my replacement indicator stalk. When they ...

Re: MOT advisory - rear ball joints
I got a two and three leg puller as I thought it would be more versatile for more jobs. I used it to get the track rod end off the steering knuckle but don't remember using it to do the lower ball joint on the front, but I think I was taking the wheel hub off anyway. The puller was tricky on the knu...

Re: seatbelt is stuck!
Mine is not stuck but I wonder if anyone can help with a seatbelt issue. It may also help anyone else coming across this thread in a web search in the future. I had to fold the carpet up behind the seat recently to have the floor welded, so I had to take the seat out and undo the bolts on the bottom...

Re: MOT advisory - rear ball joints
I got all 4 from TCB parts and did the fronts myself and it was really easy (and I am useless with spanners). I only had the back ones put on by someone else because they were doing a load of welding for the MOT so it was cheap to get them to do a few bits while the car was in.

Re: Whiteline Anti Roll Bars
With my experience now I would say you are right. Took my car to tyres northampton yesterday and the front links rubber split after only about 8 months. They were only a tenner each. How much did you pay toyota for yours? They quoted me £70 each. I am now considering the twosrus ones at £72.95 the p...

What about the ones from twosrus? £72.95 a pair. Half the price at same or better quality. Any experience? Rather half the price if I know they will last than buy £20 ebay ones again.

Re: 4 wheel alignment camber and castor in East Northants
I ordered the bushes from fensport. Poly ones.
I ordered the indicator and cowling from ebay.
I will get genuine toyota drop links and see how they fair witht the stress on them, fensport did them but they seemed a tad expensive but not got toyota price yet.

Re: 4 wheel alignment camber and castor in East Northants
Have to say I am impressed with Tyres Northampton. Took the 2 there today and they did what they could for £89.99 (seemed to be standard rate). But there were a couple of probs. Only one wheel had the camber bolts in the right way round so they couldn't adjust the camber till I take them out and put...

Re: Dont forget to Check your pads!!!
My Mintex 1144 have just run out and as the car was in for loads of other work the bloke doing it just chucked some pads in without asking and they were about £20 without knowing what brand they are. I'll stick with them till I do the hoses and fluid, but when I do all that I'm going to try Ferodo D...

Re: Mk1 owners, bit of help/info plz
I bought a cap off ebay from Japan the other week, not fitted yet as I want to flush out my system and fit new rad so that I don't get brown water in my new cap. The new cap says Caution Racing Development TRD some jap stuff and never open when hot on the top of it. The packet says 1.3kg/cm2 on it. ...

Re: Brake caliper refurb
I just replaced both rears from TCB parts at £86.80+ VAT each plus delivery. I had to have both cables replaced as they'd seized and the MOT showed the handbrake was 2% effective (I just put in gear when parked). The reason I replaced the calipers is because one had the bleed nipple broken and it ha...

Re: 4 wheel alignment camber and castor in East Northants
I think Northampton Motorsport would do a spot on job, they have a fair bit of experience setting up and building race cars. They did my rolling road investigations.
So I guess when taking it anywhere, a good dousing in WD would be the order of the day to make sure things come off as easy as.

4 wheel alignment camber and castor in East Northants
Hi, i need to get my positive camber addressed and as all 4 link arms have been replaced, need 4 wheel alignment too. My local Orbit Tyres can't do camber and castor. I rang Northampton Motorsport and they said it starts at £85+ and with everything needing doing would probably be nearer £150+ Ouch, ...

Re: has anybody ever seen a nicer Mk1 than this..?
Paul, love your old 1.5, love the eurosport body kit. The lime green one is de skirted isn't it? That's actually a really good clean look. I'd like to do that to mine but fear for what I would find underneath. Ive seen scary photos of rusty holes when the skirts come off. If it aint broke...

I hope this thread is now finished, I think everyone has had their say and overcome their differences. I can't sta...

Re: AE101 4AGZE sump pan removal
Just FYI, if I get those other 2 off, that makes 21 bolts holding on the pan, the manual says 19. So I wasn't sure if those last 2 were actually holding on the pan or not.
