Re: Woodsport longer 5th gear

Right, I did it, with a little help from a mate to hammer the new gears on. Bill was kind enough to post me his puller (the two half cup one) which he was also kind enough to let me grind another flat spot on so I didn't need to drop the gearbox. Putting the extra flat spot at around the 10-11 o'clo...

Re: TwosRus UK any good ?

I just rang this number 01226 289992. from this link http://www.twosrus.co.uk/shop/index.php/sbits-custom-droplink-kit.html (you might need to select the more info link at the end of description to show the number) And a chap called Peter said on their voicemail they are on holiday and therefore clo...

Re: Woodsport longer 5th gear

Cheers Bill. I took them off the other way round which is why I was struggling with the lock nut cos I left that gear to last and didn't have the other gear on to lock the two together. So I had to put the gear with the synchro ring back on and it still wouldn't lock is wanted to slide off the shaft...

I think it was them selling the adjustable drop links I wanted, I asked on here if anyone had bought them but got no replies.

Do coilovers have to go on the std strut? If not where do you connect your drop link to?

Re: Mk 1 LED dash

Car mod got back to me and said their kit does the whole dial binacle like mulas. Which I must say looks the biz. They can supply led bulb for the heater control if I tell them what bulb it is. I still have the old heater control and would like to do all led as the one I use most the screen and feet...

Re: Koni adjustable damper Setup help - how stiff should I go?

Anyone used bc racing coilovers? They seem very cheap at £630. But are they any good?

Anyone seen this link?

Mk 1 LED dash

I was thinking of changing the std dash bulbs for LED ones. I've taken apart the heater control main unit and that just has one bulb in it (apart from the LED in the switches) which is a std blade fit with a green rubber coating on it which could easily be changed to an LED one. I've not taken the d...

Re: Blue interior, black leather? UPDATE: Elise Seats in aw11

I personally don't like the blue interior anyway, but I have black leatherette seat covers and black door cards, black carpet and black steering wheel and centre console transmission box. but the dash and head lining is blue with a black golvebox cover. Not really to my taste, I'd rather have black ...

Re: Koni adjustable damper Setup help - how stiff should I go?

Yes if you buy the inserts you don't get the strut. If you buy the koni sport kit you get a nice new shiny yellow strut. The sport kit used to be best priced from Larkspeed who also sell them on ebay. About £500-£525 complete kit.

Re: Window Probs

Can you tell me where in the drivers footwell near the fuse box the window connectors are? I now have this problem, neither window works since changing my steering column which needed the air vent tube taking out. My mirrors and clock stopped working first time I was messing around down there and fo...

Re: Koni adjustable damper Setup help - how stiff should I go?

Jb007, did you actually buy and fit the Koni sport kit (Koni dampers and springs together)? Or did you get a different type of spring or buy them separately?

Re: What's wrong with my steering column?

All sorted with a column swap. Don't really know what was wrong, but the replacement column just looked in better general condition. The Momo boss fits and doesn't crush the indicators. It is still quite close in terms of the amount of travel left before the purple ring exposes the inner bush, but i...

Re: What's wrong with my steering column?

I had almost binned the vx220 wheel and boss after I got my momo set up. Fortunately it was still in the garage. I have removed the boss fabrication pieces you made and think I will have to find a way of fixing them to the back of the momo boss unobtrusivly and making a sort of sandwich plate betwee...

Re: What's wrong with my steering column?

I think I bought the wheel and boss from potn, but the delivery note was direct from momo as it was either made to order or just out of stock. So the boss must be good, not a fake. Did you mod the column at all. The threads look a bit chewed, did you have to dye a new thread on?

Anyone use the twosrus links? Should I get them? They will adjust the length if I need them to later for just another £15.
