Re: Handbrake cables perished after 6 months
Are the blue print ones any better? Mr2 Ben has them on his site.

Handbrake cables perished after 6 months
Hello chaps, Last October I changed both left and right handbrake cables, but now after 6 months I noticed that the rubber boots on both had completely perished and the o/s cable is seized, I was very careful when replacing them and am certain that I didn't make a mistake. But this seems odd, parts ...

Coolant change - how far do you go?
Hello chaps, I need to change my coolant in the next couple of weeks, and I'm curious as to how thoroughly everyone else does it. I'm aware of the two drain screws on the pipes underneath the car and the drain on the engine, and of course the one underneath the rad and perhaps even flushing the heat...

Have already looked at them, unfortunately you have to send them your calipers to be rebuilt.

Rear brake calipers
Does anyone know of a site with Rev 3 rear calipers in stock that aren't ridiculously expensive? Brakeparts.co.uk are well priced but one is out of stock, and most other part suppliers are either out of stock, very expensive or want you to send your calipers off first. Trouble is my car is my daily ...

Re: Wheel offset query
Update, took a wheel off and the wheels are 16x8JJ et35, given that my car is only lowered by 20mm does anyone think this will cause any rubbing issues?

Re: Wheel offset query
225/50R16s look like balloons. I don't generally care how they look, as long as they're not silly big. I think the modern trend for super low profile, rubber band esque tyres on giant rims look bloody silly. And if they give a more comfy ride then all the better. It was more me being a bit anal and...

Re: Wheel offset query
I had a very close look on the inside of the rim and couldn't see any writing. Only this stamped on the outside of the rims. https://imgur.com/a/m53mZ I remember the advertisement for them stated that the offsets were in line with standard. Are 225/50/16 tyres generally ok, or is offset really a pro...

Re: Wheel offset query
My car is only lowered by around 20mm, but I don't know what the wheel offsets are.
I know how to measure it, but that seems to require a wheel with no tyre on.

Does anyone know the offsets for these wheels, or can tell me how to find out please?

Wheel offset query
Hello chaps, The time for new rear tyres is approaching and the selection available in 225/45/16 is fairly poor and expensive. I don't particularly rate the T1-R so do not want that, but I also don't ever track my car or do as much hooning as I'd like, so the extreme options don't seem particularly ...

Re: Wheel Alignment / Vibrator Issues
Are the wheels and tyres new to you? It could be the tyres themselves if so. I had a similar problem with wheel vibration, after I bought a new set of wheels with used tyres on. The tyres were a good brand and had a decent amount of tread left so I left them on. Bad vibration between 65-80, and trie...

Mine were done on ebay .. quick turnaround :thumleft: Thanks bud, have been looking at brakes international. Will check eBay also. Are refurb calipers usually supplied with bleed nipples? The picture of the calipers on brakesint shows it with a nipple, but they also have it as a separate listing.

Brake calipers
Hello chaps,

Where's the best place for calipers these days?

My fronts are knackered, pistons very rusty, sticking and one of the seals is weeping.
Not interested in rebuilding them myself, just want a quality refurbished set.

Thanks.

Re: A farting issue
well if you've had the belts changed then they must have removed a few induction pipes so the obv place to start is there and check every clamp / pipe is as it should be. The std airbox setup does muffle a lot of noises esp intake whistling and the actual BOV in operation after a hard throttle clos...

Re: A farting issue
the goose honk!! Perfectly normal lol. I get it on my rev3, think it's related to the std BOV and the way it works, boosting harder the noise goes away as does lifting off but who does that eh  . Just turn and look at your passenger in a disgusted manner and carry on driving  It i...

A farting issue
Hello chaps, I do indeed have a farting problem, well the noise anyway. Ever since I had my car taken to have all the belts changed, valve clearances adjusted etc there's been a very odd almost farting noise whenever I reach boost. It's not a constant noise and I can stop it by reducing throttle and...
