Re: wide spacers

You should be OK with 25mm spacers and longer wheel studs - try Vauxhall ones (I think). This is the maximum allowed by the MSA for racing / rallying etc.

What wide arch kit have you got? Any pictures?

Re: Mk3 imitates famous mk1....

The group b era RS200 were well over 750 bhp in evolution two spec. (The rallycross version driven by Pat Dorran was well over 800 bhp) Also an Rs200 held the zero to 100 mph and back to zero record (driven by Stig Blomqvist) of I think about 12 seconds. Also took the Pikes peak hillclimb record.

Re: Mk3 imitates famous mk1....

Does look OK but there is no mention of the rear spoiler or the roof vent and side ears. Also there is no moulded polycarbonate rear window probably the hardest part to obtain

Re: Can the 4-AGE be bored out at all?

Another possibility using the 4age block and giving 1796 cc. Will need tge same amount of block machining as the HKS kit which is allbut inpoossible to find these days. I think if I could afford to build a hybrid engine In would like to use the 7age stroker kit though ang get nearly 1850cc with a 7a...

Re: My AW11 Fritzinger widebody. Some years of work in pictures

Anyone recognise this car from the REgency Stages last year (scroll down to pic of Mk1 mr2) The arches are not as well executed as the Fritzinger but look interesting if available as a kit.

Re: PK_090'S Build/bodge and restore thread!

These moulds really are a bargin, the cost of materials just to make them would be many times this cost, without countng the time involved in making the bucks. They were previously for sale for £800, and before that were included with the MR2 autocross car also for sale by the same vendor. Incidentl...

Re: PK_090'S Build/bodge and restore thread!

I think the moulds that PW sold on recently are currently posted for sale on Pistonheads,. Unfortunatly I cannot include the URL link but if you look at the motorsport parts for sale you can see the items being sold by Racecars direct in Bournmouth. Sorry I cannot be more informative, but these seem...

Re: My "stock" Mk1

EDIT: This only works if you still use the C52 bellhousing, so you might as well use the C52 centre case as per my previous post.[/quote]

Probably a realy numpty question but does the above mean that a supported shaft arrangement can be fitted to the C52 n/a gearbox?

Re: Rally Car

Interesting you say you are reverting to 15" wheels, I seem to recall that Bill Strong (Northstar project) recomends this size as optimum for the car.

What is the maximum size ie width diameter that is allowed by the MSa in the 1600 class these days? Bearing in mind the K37 changes for 2012?

Re: Flickr Mr2 mk1 group

Does anyone have any information about the Fritzinger Motorsport MR2 (the white and green wide arched rally car).

I noticed that the car is being driven by Klaus Fritzinger or at least has his name on the side. Does anyone know what engine is being used and whether the body kit still available?

Re: 20 valve engine conversion, help.

Probably get flamed out of existance but I seem to recall that Lotus had a hand in the initial design concept for the MR2, and the 4age engine is certainly a more refined version of Fords BDA 16 valver so perhaps Cosworth had some input also

Re: Carry the Weight, or rather don't...

If you are going to use the car in msa approved rallies check out the blue book that you gety with your compertition licence this will tell you what you can cannot do to prepare a rally car. Also check out the amendments to k37 stage rally regulations as from this year there are additional restricti...
