Have you just tested it holding it in your hand?
If so connect it all up and bolt it into the dash so it can earth through the mounting cage

I would check your gear change cables are in one piece or even attached to the selector on the gearbox this link will help

How do those engine lids attach You have to remove the original engine lid and inspection panels. This one attaches using the existing engine lid catch. Its very simple to put on and remove I still have the inspection panels in place with mine (and a turbo undertray to protect engine from rain) her...
