Re: [Mk2] [NA] Decats

Hi, I specifically worked with the Powerflow outlet to not have a droney sounding exhaust. It definitely doesn't drone and sounds better than the Mongoose/Blueflames. The Japspeed one is just ridiculously loud. At meets I often had people asking what Exhaust it was and that it was the best they'd he...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Decats

Hello mate, I've got a Blueflame one for sale in good condition: http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=180776&highlight= To be fair I noticed hardly any difference in the sound. Or, I have a stainless exhaust which has the de-cat section already in place: http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/view...

Re: Speedo Problems.

Hmmm, does that definitely go from the speed sensor straight to the clocks and not the ECU first? So have you changed the whole clocks unit or just parts of it?

Re: Speedo Problems.

The gear on the diff is plastic, and I've never seen one knackered or worn. You say you've re-wired, did you make up a new wire and run it from the sender to the clocks, or to the ECU?

Re: SW20 suspension setup for trackracing

MR2Pagey: How do the racinglines differ from FWD to MERWD? The racing lines for FWD an MERWD car are massively different because of where the weight is and where the power is put down. And my UK imported MR2 (im from Holland) has TSW Pace wheels, 15 inch, but 6.5J all around. It's currently on 225 ...

I believe Wheels in motion are very good from what I have read but I've never used them myself.

Re: SW20 suspension setup for trackracing

1) Take a different line through corners. You can't go through corners on the same line as you would a FWD car to a MERWD car. 2) Change the ARB's to the TRD or White line ones. 3) Either get some coilovers or at least make sure your shocks work and get some stiffer springs (Tein S-Tech work well). ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Alternative way to drain coolant?

It's really not much hassle to remove the rad, especially if you have the car up in the air to get to the drain points underneath the car as well. But yeah, gravity dictates that as long as the top of the coolant system is open to atmosphere, if you open the lower drain points the coolant should ne...

Re: Idle RPM

On initial startup for a minute or two it will sit at around 2,000rpm and then slowly drop to around 500-750 as it warms up.

If the ECU temp sensor is faulty this can take slightly longer. Easy to replace and you can buy them from camskill.

Sounds fairly normal to me though.

Going by your description, if you disconnected the drip links, the ARB wouldn't of been under load. Are you sure the ARB bushes aren't worn?

Ahhh... Some of them haven't got tape on them. Does anyone know what length they are or which side is longer than the other?

Thanks for the replies!

Handbrake Cable Colours?

Hi, ive got an assortment of handbrake cables in my shed and I need to fit them to my Rev 3 UK SW20 as it hasn't got any at the moment. There are various lengths and some have coloured tape on them. The cables have come from various revision MR2's so I'm not sure if they differ either? Can anyone te...

Inside or outside of the car? If it's outside the car I'd check the engine inspection panels are seated properly and screwed down.

Quick Alternator Question....

I've done a search but can't find what I'm after.... My Alternator has seized up after not using the car for a few days. There was lots of smoke from the belt before it finally broke. I felt the pulley on the Alternator and it is solid, I can't move it by hand. I'm hoping I can free it up with a soc...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Intermittent leaky boot - any ideas?

Take the carpet out and see if you can see where it is coming through. You could have a small hole in the bottom, or a bolt missing in the engine bay which normally bungs a hole.

3SGE Injector Rail Removal

Hi, Is it possible to remove the injector rail from a UK REV 3/4/5 3SGE engine without removing the lower part of the intake manifold? I know the top half of the intake manifold needs to be removed, but removing the lower half looks more of a PITA and would prefer not to. Perhaps someone else here h...

Yep, had the same problem when doing my mates. It took us a while of beating it and prying it. It will come, but it will take some time. There's definitely only 2 bolts holing it in place.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Spare key

The REV 4's and some REV 3's have a Immobiliser and transponder. They are all linked to the ECU, etc and the key would be a nightmare to source and get coded.
