Forgot to add...the paint code is on the VIN plate..on the bulkhead in the frunk. check out http://www.toyotareference.com/mr2#MR for a list of standard paintcodes. Might be a case of taking off the fuel cap for a match??
Can anyone recommend some decent replacement shocks? I'm looking for something 'middle of the road'...not rock hard race spec, but a tad stiffer than standard. Ideally, something of reasonable cost too...the old girl will need a fair bit of work over the next year and my pockets aren't bottomless un...
Other than Fensport, does anyone have any suggestions of where to source some new shockers?? I'm not wanting any Carlos Fandango Sporto Upgrade kits...just standard replacements.
Any suggestions appreciated...
If the car has the original lockset, your local friendly Toyota dealer should be able to give you your key number from the Chassis Number..the JT1 number on your log-book or vin plate in the frunk.....key numbers tend to be a letter followed by 4 numbers from memory....Hope that's useful!! Should al...
Absolutely right...53205-17030 is the fella you need. Be very interesting to see if Toyota still do the part...let us know as I'm sure you're not the only one needing this panel!!
I'm with Mr Woods on this one...MR2 is far prettier I remember a neighbour having a X19 from new when I was a wee lad - when I first saw it I liked it, but seem to remember it being on the back of an AA truck more than on the road. I also remember seeing a MR2 for the first time - wow..and the first...
Watch this space...parts will be ordered in the next week or so. It's a bit of a gamble for both Paul and me as there's no guarantee the later gears will fit the box - but fingers crossed!! If they don't, I'll have a very expensive paperweight for my desk.
Yip...all sorted my end. Aerial fitted, a nice tidy wiring job - and all working perfectly. One of the great benefits of a friendly owners club community!!
We could try out the long 5th mod on the old one afterwards...[/quote] One for Paul to answer - the current plan is for Paul to have my car for as long as he needs to do the 'can it be done' bit. If it's not straight forward, then we may need to source a donar gearbox from a late corolla etc - faili...
Done exactly as sloopeh did..rusty as hell inside, but cleaned it all up and gave it grease/oil - the barrel/case for the cable to go back into when down is so rusty it fouls every time. Off to Maplins now so can get finished before lunchtime!!
Hey...that's hardly fair - it needs to go to the guy I bought the car from - I couldn't possibly take the credit for it. There's nee chance I could of come up with anything that genius
Here you go ladies and gents...I mentioned the rather 'clever' fix to 5th gear on my mk1 - I discovered this when changing the gaiter. It's not something that Mr Woods is willing to copy however (despite the offer of copyright too) [http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/a6ft5inguy/Car002.jpg] [htt...
Cheers for the tips - sounds like the gears then rather than the cable being snapped. I will take a trip to Maplins and give myself some bank holiday weekend fun!! (will take the original to bits too...just for fun especially if the rain comes)
Thanks
Morning all, I have a problem with my electric aerial on my new mk1. When I got the car, the aerial was up - the guy I got it off said "it works - but when it wants to" and the electrical connector was disconnected. I've connected it this morning and the aerial motor is working (so not the...
