From memory you've had a head skim and fitted non-stock cams so could well have been some valve / piston contact when the belt snapped. Extremely unlikely the belt failed this quickly unless there was a fitting error or some kind of mechanical issue in the valve train - needs inspecting carefully to...
May be the outer dust cover against the bearing race then. I wasn't expecting to have to take them off to lube them up as TFS made them sound superior, when they are just xxxx! And it's not the rose joints which need lubing up, it's the actual thread on the studding holding them together. Maybe I m...
Yeah something like that. It helps if the arm is off the car so that you can rest it on something solid like an anvil but technique should still work on the car.
To be crystal what I think Lauren is suggesting is to hit the side of the wishbone adjacent to the ball joint taper. Don't hit the ball joint nut or you will bend the threaded part.

This sounds like the mechanism within the caliper isn't set right.
Paul Woods has a supposedly foolproof method for resetting when you change the pads - search the forum and you should find it.

Manual choke is pretty easy - worst bit is getting the wiring from the valve to a switch on the dashboard.
A mk2 a/c idle up valve works ok on mine.
