the mr2 doesn't allow for over-corrections though, it bites and this is how most of them are spun. This! I think this is very true. Are the Coil-Pack and Igniter 2 seperate things?
Which would be most likely to be at fault?

Yeah, pretty sure this "rotate the wheels with the car in the air" test doesn't work for the OEM-type diffs. I think you can check the vin number too... Look at the Tranny code - 73x if x = 4 (no-LSD) if x = 5 (LSD) But then, the original box could have been changed I guess. Only 100% sure...

when you say doesnt start does it just keep turning over?? Check your Earth under the inlet manifold, this can give lots of starting problems, and then check all the other earths as well. Yeah, it does sound like it's related to the starting/ignition system somewhere.
