Re: Twin Pot Calipers
Paul would be the best person to ask, I didn't think the 185s were a direct bolt on. Well he could ask the man that invented the mod, but will he listen? :D Just to clear this up, you can bolt ANY of the Celica calipers to a Mk1 hub, be it Mk1a or Mk1b, all Celica caliper bolt spacings are the same...

Re: 4AGE Tuning
Yes now the 1zz, that's a terrible engine without question, worst unit Toyota ever made in my book. Ahh, maybe I'm unfairly tarring the 2zz with the same brush as I thought the 2zz was a variation based on the 1zz? If I'm wrong, I'm happy to stand corrected. Lauren, I've read your posts in the past...

Re: 2zz-ge Mk1 build
That'll teach me to trust wickedpedia "In a rear wheel drive car, increased front toe in provides greater straight-line stability at the cost of some sluggishness of turning response, as well as a little more tire wear as they are now driving a bit sideways. On front wheel drive cars, the situa...

Re: 2zz-ge Mk1 build
The TRD settings are as follows: Toe-In: ft=1.6mm (stock=1mm) rr=3.2mm (stock=4-5mm) Castor = 6 deg (don't worry about this too much though ) Camber: ft= 1mm neg (stock zero) rr= 1.5 neg (stock 1 deg) It seems strange to me that the TRD settings run more toe in than standard as this just gives impro...

Re: 2zz-ge Mk1 build
Just thought Id write a long overdue update to his project. We had a few initial problems which is to be expected with a project like this (1st in the country) but Im very pleased to say that the bugs were ironed out about a month ago and now the car is exactly how I want it. First problem was tha...

Re: 2zz-ge Mk1 build
Absolutely Paul. Given the choice between looks or function, I'd take function every time. This is after all going to be my everyday road car so above all else I want it to be reliable. Great job on the exhaust Paul, I like the subtle look of the std. mk2 backbox and my ears will be happy now on the...

Re: 2zz-ge Mk1 build
Paul you're a star!! Superb work, I've just watched that video 5 times and its just how I wanted the transplant to be. I know the OEM intake and exhaust are probably not to everyone's tastes but the point is I expressed my wishes to Paul and he made it happen. His communication throughout the...

Re: 2zz-ge Mk1 build
would love to be taken out in this if your reading Mark :thumleft: Please!!! :) If ever your near London I'm sure this could be arranged. The reason for asking Paul to do the 2ZZ transplant for me in the first place was that I wanted to maintain the character, ride and handling of the MK1 whilst gi...

I can get hold of these brakes for free and at 275mm dia discs they should have more power then the Mk1b brakes.

Re: LSD for 4A-GE?
Just a thought, I've read some where that all UK MK3's come with LSD's as standard, so wouldn't it be possible to swap the bell housings on the gearbox over, and fit to a Mk1?
I think then all I'd need is Mk2 N/A shafts
- is this correct?

Re: LSD for 4A-GE?
Thanks for all you help with this guys.

If anyone has one of these TRD Torsen LSD's for a C52 for sale then please let me know?
I'll keep checking WW Ebay but currently none, or in completed for that matter.

Re: LSD for 4A-GE?
I have an N/a box on mine, mines a conversion. its a C52, with a TRD helical LSD That's great news! Do you want to sell it?? I'll contact TTE Germany and see how much they'll charge for it. My car has only done 55k miles from new but I'd change the bearings and syncros in the box when fitting anywa...

Re: LSD for 4A-GE?
I have a trd helical lsd in mine. you just have to keep an eye out on ebay worldwide, but once you've had the box rebuilt (you really dont want to fit the lsd to a 100k 20yr old box do you?) its expensive But am I right in thinking you have a S/C's Mk1 which uses a different box? I'm after an LSD f...

LSD for 4A-GE?
Just done a bit of a search but not come up with much. I know that the plate type LSD's are available from TRD, Kaaz and torque biasing LSD from Quaife. All these options are £600+, just wondering if there are any other options? Can I get a box that fits the AW11 with 4A-GE with LSD already fitted? ...
