Re: Average AFR numbers from Rev3 3SGTE?
When I dynoed my MR2 whilst it was stock, under WOT the AFR was 13.5:1 until 4000 rpm and then rapidly dropped to 10:1 by 6000 rpm. Under light acceleration I'd expect the ECU to still be running closed-loop, so AFRs should be fluctuating around 14.7. If you're seeing 16:1 then either the ECU is run...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Goose Honk - re-circ solutions?
When I first got my MR2 it suffered from the horrible goose honk sound with an Apexi air filter, so it was replaced with an HKS SSQV BOV. After quite a few years I fitted a ST205 Chargecooler and wasn't happy with the HKS BOV fitment. So I got the original BPV and tested it as per the BGB. I found o...

Re: Fuel Cut Or Speed cut
The ways the ECU has to restrict the engine is to cut the ignition or the fuel. The boost limiter is a fuel cut... I cant' remember if the speed limited is fuel or ignition cut. I've never actually hit it myself as my turbo has always been delimited. Speed limiter is fuel cut as well. The stock ECU...

You can just swap out the rev counter for a replacement and not touch the speedometer.

Re: Looking to buy an MR2 turbo
I have driven an NA MR2 and loved the interior and the look but wanted more from the car. Would anyone be kind enough to take me out in one, even as a passenger? I live in the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire area and am happy to travel if needed I live just north of Cambridge, happy to take you out as...

x-brace goes above the plates. It has to as the stock brace only bolts to one stud each side on the suspension towers.

Re: Suspension upgrade.
I went from yellow Bilsteins with lowering springs to Meister-R coilovers. The coilovers give a more comfortable ride on the softer settings. I highly recommend them over BC coilovers.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Water Injection Installation - Aquamist HFS3.1
#1,#2,#3,#4 are the injector signals. The ECU drives them to 0v to turn on the injectors, so measuring 14.1v with ignition on but without the engine running is expected. I tested for this with the engine running but if it's like you said the 4 injector wires from the ecu are at 14v with a pulse of ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power steering
As I mentioned before, if PSCT is disconnected the main ECU had no control over the PS. Did you try that? If it didn't work changing the main ECU is just wasting money.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power steering
There's also a signal from the main ECU to the power steering ECU, named PSCT, that's used by the main ECU to disable power steering during starting.
Try disconnecting it, the power steering pump should then run when the ignition is turned on.

Re: [FINALIZED] Rev2 Turbo Fields ECU
If the part number on the main chip is D151802-9361 then that's the normal part.
I'd suggest that at some point in the past it has had a daughterboard fitted but for some reason it has been removed and the main chip re-soldered back into position.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Better air intake temp sensor and positioning. Results page 6.
The problem with the fast reacting sensor is that it's quite a bit shorter then the stock sensor: http://i.imgur.com/5SPbH3V.jpg I have a modified stock ECU that I can toggle a switch to make it run on open loop mode on demand. I saw that without the lambda sensor feedback the ECU ran widely lean at...

Re: Are uk 3sge's actually inherently gutless? And what about BEAMS cars?
Map might be slightly different for emissions purposes perhaps (ECU PN is different) but having driven several variations of Rev3/4/5 NA's there really is no noticeable difference. Probably because there's no difference at all. Agreed; the map could be different and result in a reduction of power; ...
