I've got it running fine here although it will refuse to run if you've got too much space on your hard drive.

Re: Part number for MK1 SC AFM?

You can download the Toyota EPC from the net easily enough. Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link though as I guess it's Toyota's intellectual property and the club could technically be liable if the forum is used to assist in distributing copyright material.

Re: mr2 mk1b rear speaker change?

I wouldn't bother with rear speakers at all. If the fronts are decent enough then you shouldn't need anything in the back.

Two speakers works fine for listening to music through a home stereo - why would you need more in a car?

Re: diy fit socks and springs?

From my personal experience I spent all last weekend on mine and only got the rears done. Although I also wasted alot of time faffing with seized bolts in an attempt to do bushes/ball joints at the same time. There's not really a lot to do and on paper it looks a quick job but how long it actually t...

yoko c.drives

Anyone tried them? Was hoping to get some cheap A539s direct from Yoko through the GF's work but they just say they're discontinued and are saying that these c.drives are supposed to be the replacement. Looking around they look like more of a shopping trolley tyre than something I want to be putting...

Re: Weight and power

I seem to remember some magazine article attributing the weight to the cosntruction of the shell, with five lateral bulkheads instead of the two you get in a hatchback. Sounds about right. I've always considered the mr2 to be somewhat lardy since a mate who'd stripped a few for parts commented on h...

Bush removal.

Just recieved my new set of bushes and I've started swotting up before attempting to fit them (still need to order my Konis yet so no hurry). Anyone got any good tips for getting the old bushes out of the control arms using only the tools I'm likely to have lying around or can get cheaply or will I ...

I've got a set ready to refurb - my plan is to stick with silver but paint the teardrops in Mica blue.

Re: Coilovers

I'd reckon that a Koni kit, at around 350 quid would be more than adequate. You'd be surprised at how little the car gets lowered - the standard springs have probably sagged anyway. It's what I'm going for. As nice as Ledas would be there's no way I can justify that sort of outlay. Bushes are on th...

Re: Coilovers

The cheap option:

Koni SSK, full set of adjustable shocks with stiffer and lower (40mm) springs. Should be able to get the kit for about 370ish

The expensive option:

LEDA coilovers - anywhere from 1-2k depending on your choice of damping medium.

Car is a red MK1b, and i live in Colney. If you fancy a get together in Norwich im not far from you. There's usually an MR2 meet starting from "Pets at Home" car park just off the ring road once a month or so. It's mostly mk2's but there's a couple of mk1s show up. Keep an eye on the 'Eve...

Re: Should I buy it......

For 3k+ I'd want nothing less than perfect bodywork and 50k miles tops. Any visible rust and I wouldn't pay more than half that. My mica blue only cost me £1500 with 140k, wouldn't say the bodywork is perfect as there are a few dings and touched up bits of paintwork but it's entirely rust free havin...

Nice to know my brain hasn't turned totally to mush  so where is DOM 1V now then is it a "Club car" has anyone ever seen it? might well be under a new identity now. If the buyer had any sense they'd have flogged the plate off to recoup a good chunk of what they paid for the car res...

Re: cleanest mr2 on the planet

Just done a spot of googling myself. Looks like at least some of the Patrick collection was sold off as I have found reference to a 'Part two' of the collection selling at Bonhams at the end of last year. http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/magazine/3500.asp?id=12274 if you click the link at the bottom ...
