That was a lucky escape! Having worked in the car auction industry for little while, its incredible just how many cars have a dodgy history. I always check my cars now

My dad once insinuated that my car was a bit hairdressery - but quickly took it back when I reminded him that his last car was an aquamarine-blue XR3i cabriolet

It's taken me a while, but I finally got some decent pics of my mk1, so thought I'd show it off! Its a bit of a bargain basement car... cost me 600 quid with almost a year's tax and ticket. Its got a few bits and pieces that need sorting out, mostly a bit of rust on the a-pillars and the rover wheel...

Just been out in the cold with the camera:

Someone I know had something similar happen to his 350z, he claimed off the council after the dustbin lorry scraped the side of his car. Of course, the fact that he had no idea whether it actually was the dustbin lorry is neither here nor there... the council still payed up for a resprayed wing :thu...

Very true... and for god's sake watch out for country lanes covered in leafy mulch! I was spinning at the rears in 3rd... in a standard mk1

Not sure how relevent this is... but my mum had a 2001 Avensis 1.8 vvti that had the engine replaced by Toyota, for free when it was 6 years and 50k miles old. Apparently it was a dodgy batch with (i think) a porous block that would start to burn oil after about 50k miles. I imagine this would have ...
