[Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox making interesting noises
Had this problem for a while now and seems to be getting progressively worse. On startup it's as if the gearbox shaft is somehow making contact with the engine and causes the engine to vibrate until i put the clutch down. Also it's making a horrendous dry bearing sound at about 3-3.5k. All the gears...

Could well be a hose that's split mate, take em all off and check for splits especially under where the jubilee clips are.
Then look at the rest of the vacuum hoses, etc and check they are all in order.
Have you checked for error codes?

ECU temp sensor perhaps?
Not sure if it's used on your Link setup but has been the cause of many cold start woes on stock cars.
Only 15 quid from Camskill too so might be worth changing anyway if it is still wired up

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] run-dry pumps for CC setup ?
Is it worth using the GT4 pre rad instead of the Fiat Cinq rad?
Reason i ask is i can get hold of these bits pretty cheaply and was just after people's opinions on them
The bit's i'm using are of an ST165 BTW
Cheers

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car was dead this morning!!??
Lots of small journeys with things like stereo and heaters, etc on will drain the battery as it will not put back in what's been taken out. Best thing to do is charge it up fully and either get a drop test done or a capacity test then you know where you are with it. As above, alternator is an easy o...

Can't remap the stock ECU i'm afraid mate
If you want to be more futureproof then definitely go for an uprated fuel pump, certainly won't do any harm, just a pain in the ar$e to fit as you've got to drop the tank!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Hi, new to this and need to know how to improve my new toy.... (spec inside).
Alright mate, if you want to improve MPG then you'll have to go down the route of either piggyback ECU or full standalone. Best bang for buck would be the Unichip, been changing hands on here for not much over £100 then you'll need to get it fitted and mapped. Will definitely improve MPG and probabl...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Fitting a BOV flange to ST165 chargecooler
Does anyone know how to do this or know of anyone that can? I'm not sure if the ST165 has a steel shaft turbo but my CT20 doesn't so i'd like to fit one on somewhere along the line. There's no real possibility of fitting one into the pipework as there's hardly any to use! Any help would be greatly a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Steering Rack Ends - Easy to Change???
It really isn't that hard mate! All you do is remove the outer track rod end, take off theundertray which will expose the track rod, loosen it with the mole grips et voila! Fitting is obviosly the reverse of removal. Lot cheaper than buying a new rack and a hell of a lot easier to fit :thumleft: Steve

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Steering Rack Ends - Easy to Change???
From what i can remember it's not a hard job. Easiest thing to do is turn em with mole grips instead of a spanner as you can get to em a bit easier. Top tip, if you keep the rod end lock nut in roughly the same place, you can use it to line up the new ones so the tracking isn't a million miles out! ...
