Might be a long shot but have you checked your gearbox oil level? If that's low it can make the box a bit noisier than it shoud be.

Fraid not mate, it's not on the web it's an Autoleads product and it's a universal fascia adapter that adds on to the bottom instaed of making the hole smaller. Any car spares shop should be able to get hold of them.

Glad someone mentioned these and how good they were cos i was going to buy one but don't think i'll bother now!

Mine makes the same kind of noise mate, but i think it's just the noise from the gearbox as my mate's rev3 turbo makes the same noise too.

Does the noise get louder when you go round corners?

I've got like a cd storage thing that bolts on to the bottom of your head unit then fits nicely in the double DIN hole, cost about a tenner from Motorworld and looks like it was made to be there!
