Re: Inner or Outer CV boot?

Ok great. In terms of sliding a new boot on, at what point does the shaft need disconnecting so as not to split the assembly at the CV joint?

Re: Inner or Outer CV boot?

Ok cool.Thanks.

I'm looking for some information on whether the CV joint requires replacement. I.e.a new assembly when a boot splits or is it just a case of replacing the boot and placing fresh grease Inside.

Thanks.

Inner or Outer CV boot?

Hi All, I need to replace a CV boot as it's split but i can't figure out whether it's the inner or outer. According to the BGB it looks like the Outer CV boot but to me, Outer would suggest the one closest the wheel. Also, can the CV boots be replaced without removing the Axle and draining the gearb...

Re: [FINALIZED] Rev 1 Turbo T-Bar, Black, spotless body work, nice spec, 269.3bhp.

Any leaks from the HFH or HFHOE, are they still original from factory? No, these were both replaced when the engine was swapped in 2012. Just so everyone who has been PMing is aware. I have somebody coming to look at the car this Saturday. I will update everyone once a decision has been made. Thank...

I'm glad you wrote that because it was supposed to be £2200!! The extra £500 was for the wheels and tires on the original thread last year.

I've edited my original post. Thanks again.

Hi All, My MR2 is back up for sale! This time it has to go as i'm now the proud owner of a Mercedes. Everything still runs as it should and the Car has MOT until June 2015 (...

Re: Running issues on turbo

Had a new issue last night, however im convinced its related. Instead of feeling slow to pull in 5th gear, it made boost then started juddering. It sort of felt like hitting the rev limiter but clearly no where near.

Well all my resistances check out just fine on the tps according to the bgb which is unfortunate as I was hoping it was that!

That's what im thinking Jim. Is the tps a resistance measurement? What typically goes wrong with this sensor?

Re: Running issues on turbo

Ok bit of an update. Checked the error codes whilst running and it turns out I have a code 51, switch signal. The check engine light shows normal but the second I touch the accelerator, 51 pops up. It then switches back to normal after lifting off the accelerator. Anyone know what this means? Timing...

Good shout on the boost leak. Will check pipes.

Timing has been checked within the last 12 months and was spot on, however, could it move over time?

Running issues on turbo

Hi all, I've had a couple of running issues just recently and i'm struggling to pinpoint the cause. Car starts just fine but for the first 10 minutes, it has 'no go'. It's revving fine but feels like there is a lack of power and was even requiring a little boost to get her moving up a slight gradien...
