Re: Coming over to the purist MR2 side.

The problem with finding good rust free mk1's now is the price they demand. I loved mine for 8.5 years but if I were to get another mr2 it would have to be a mk3 roadster now.

That's just corrosion, it will be 18mm. Early rears were 10mm, mk1b 12mm and SC 14mm.

Re: MOT failed - advice needed.

GSF on Parker Drive or Parkers on Belgrave Gate usually have everything you need. I use to use Macpa on Central Street but they are hit and miss these days. Parkers are good as there open 9-3 on Sunday.

Re: Can't bring myself to sell...

I had my mk1 for 8.5 years and then just decided one day I had enough and it had to go. It needed to much work and wasn't really worth it in the end so sold it on for £500. It would of cost a couple grand to get everything sorted, mainly paint work and even then it would only be worth around £1500. ...

Re: Discharge lights at high revs

hi , i would check the bottom pulley hasn't de-laminated . the outer ring ( what the fan belt runs on ) is rubber bonded on and they do fail and slip under heavy load . take the belt off and see if you can turn the outer pulley by hand . Its either this, the belt slipping or a problem with the alte...

Re: Clutch Bleed - Easiest method

Phone a friend. What ever you do don't release the clutch pedal with the slave bleed valve open as you can get the master cylinder rod stuck in. If your on your own then what I did was use a pole up against the seat to hold the clutch pedal fully in then released the slave bleed valve, topping up at...

Really? If I broke it I thought i'd get more but not much so would be best and easier to sell as a whole. Taking into account the exhaust and suspension I figured £500 fair.

88 Mk1b Spares & Repairs, MOT, Tax, £500

Its time to retire the Mk1, I've had it since 2005 and its never let me down but the rust worm is starting to set in and its now 50 shades of red. Its Taxed till 31/01/2014 and Mot'd till 14/05/14. Its classed as a CAT C on the log book. Mechanically the cars sound, its coming up to 120k miles and h...

The tube should be connected to the right pipe and the left pipe should have a blanking plug on it.
