Wheel stud removal

Any advice for removing wheel studs? I understood the best way was to remove the caliper and knock them out with a big hammer? Problem is one of my caliper bolts (bottom one) is rounded off and the big bolts that hold the caliper surround on both sides are solid. Infact they're closer again to round...

Deffo bear that in mind... mines a 3SGE T-Bar so there's no reason to settle for the lower powered one when you can get a proper one for less than 500 notes!

Re: 1st mr2 advice?

I got me a Rev1 N/A which I love to bits... cost me £460. Hardly anything wrong at all and the steering / suspension differences are a matter of opinion if you ask me... love it to bits, best car I've had since my mk1! :thumleft:

Electrical fault fixed!!!

Well I'm pleased to report that my constant battery drain has been fixed! Turned out to be the igniton relay in the engine bay fusebox. Certain I tried pulling that one with a multimeter attached ](*,) Anyway, cost me £34.50 for an autoelectrician to come out to my work, find the fault and fix it......

Re: check this track car on race cars direct

ITBs FTW! I've read somewhere about someone converting an MR2 to have a hydraulic handbrake, what do the supras use for a handbrake mechanism? They use the internal diameter of the hub of the disc as the handbrake. There's basically the same set up as old drum brakes but inside the hub of the disc....

Re: Remote Central Locking

Interesting, as I just looked at my key to see there's a "lock / unlock" button ans a battery inside the key... so I assume mine has remote locking??? Probably just needs a new battery???

Re: On going electrical Woes (Rev1 N/A)

Aye 50uA. That's what the multimeter says anyway (Connected between the negative post on the battery and the negative lead that clamps onto the battery). I thought that's next to nothing so must be my battery, off I went for a new one but now it just lasts longer before dying. I'm positive it's char...

On going electrical Woes (Rev1 N/A)

Noon everyone (is that the phrase for 12:00???) I've had trouble with my motor draining it's battery overnight... I've tried the multimeter and pulling fuses technique of trying to find a fault but first it's only draining at 50 micro amps which just doesn't seemto be enough to kill a good battery a...

Re: Yeah yeah I know, another mpg thread

Rev 1 N/A here and I seem to get really good economy. never done the mpg test but I often put about 120 - 140 miles on it over a weekend for roundabout a tenner, £15 if I batter it. At least 80 of those miles are motorway cruising so that's a pretty fair mix. It just seems to run on fresh air once i...

Aye I was trying that for a good 5 hours yesterday, the lever is very free now, like I said above, so free I can release it by hand now but the spring just isn't pulling it back, £7 for a new one from toyota dealer though... not too bad :thumleft:

Rear brake calipers / Handbrake (mk2)

Morning!!!! Who knows about the calipers and handbrake levers? I followed the guide posted by paul woods on handbrake adjustment which worked very well... The handbrake now woirks very well, only problem is it doesn't release on one side. The cables are free enough, I know this because I can free th...

Re: Light snow

My old mk1 was really good in the snow, used to work at the top of this long winding road up and around a couple of quarries, slip off the side and you're going to fall a long long way. I remember everyone taking the p1ss out of me when they heard snow was coming, "you won't get here in your ca...

Re: MOT Failure!!!!!

Aye Ithought the headlamp thing was a bit rubbish, I gather one is much higher than the other so I'll have to get in there and level them up. Only major thing really is the sill, got a body shop, "doing some research" and ringing me back with a price today. hopefully not too much, I have t...

MOT Failure!!!!!

:pale: Just got my car back and she's failed her test :pale: A few little things like headlamps being aimed too high and wipers not working well enough (Though I've never had a problem with them), the only big one really is the offside sill needs welding / replacing. Seem to remember someone saying ...
